I am quite hesitant about posting this here for fear it will be used against me, but I have decided it has to be done, and it has to be fixed ASAP, hopefully not too long into the regular season.
A lot of people might already know this, but some of the formations used by the offense have several plays that can go into action, while other formations are limited to just one play. For example, the goalline formation only produces a run, and the shotgun empty only produces pass plays. On the bright side, these formations are very specifically designed for either short-yardage runs or many passing options, and will remain effective to a decent degree even if the defense knows whats coming.
However, there is one formation- the weak offset I- which produces the same play every time (pitch right). As seen here:

Not so bad? Very, very, very, very, very bad! Defensive coordinators can use this formation in their inputs for the AI, and any kind marginally smart DC can shut this play down nearly EVERY time. Watch:

Stacking the LB at WR2 and blitzing both guys out of the corner pretty much guarantees a quick stuff or TFL on the pitch. No scouting, no in-depth analysis required. The weak I always runs this play, exactly the same way- no multiple passing options, no multiple holes to hit. The only consistent solution a poor OC has is to outright eliminate the pitch from his playbook- NOT A GOOD SOLUTION.
In any kind of real football, at pretty much any level, the offense and the HB would look at the defense, and make a judgment to run in the other direction, down the middle, at the very least cut the sweep in earlier. It's not like the weak I is a particularly effective formation for the sweep right- the FB tends to pick up a random blocker in the middle, while the RG pulls only enough to pick up a DE/safety/LB coming in from downfield.
TBQH, for seriously, this needs a fix, soon. A DC shutting down this play is not playing the game, he's just gaming the system. All it takes is one run play, one pass play to be added to the weak I, this problem would largely disappear. Teams who badly need to stop the pitch can still use this defense, but there really needs to be some more balance. An even quicker solution for a busy Bort would be to just remove this formation-play entirely from the playbook, and force all pitch rights to come out of the standard I.
This kind of thing is going to ruin a lot of game potential throughout the season if it is not fixed- this game is already limited and I'm fine with that, but I don't like to completely lose a play just because a defense can abuse it.
