Way I see it, Day 1 contracts don't help owners or players.

There have been threads demanding only day 40 contracts, impinging a little on the freedom of choice at GLB.

Perhaps some kind of mechanism that disallows day 1 contracts.

While it is one less choice, there is no one that truly benefits from keeping the choice where contracts expire during the season.

+1, had it come up this season in fact. Support couldn't fix it because it was past rollover. Still took 5 days to get back to me so support is back logged and this would save them a lot of time I bet.

Could the code allow the cutoff to be applied to the Regular and Casual teams while keeping it the way it currently is for Peewee teams? As a Peewee owner that prefers to give performance bonuses at the end of the season, this would probably be the best scenario, imo.

I didn't see this posting before I posted mine own. I totally agree 100%. Contract should end on day 40, not mid-season. I had a couple players go inactive and lost them. Now I don't have a punter for my championship game tomorrow. it made my overall ranking go from 69 to 66. This suck going into a championship game with out a punter. I wanted to redo the contract put the player went inactive a couple of weeks ago.

Wow...I haven't checked on this thread in a while. That's a huge reason...and you were in the playoffs so you couldn't even sign a replacement...
