Currently we only see the text "made" or "missed". It would be nice to have some sort of replay on missed field goals because the agent needs to know if it was short or wide to make the appropriate adjustment. I haven't read every page of suggestions but of what I have seen this isn't mentioned anywhere. Not sure why it isn't a hotter topic. Thanks for the consideration.

It's probably not mentioned anywhere because it used to be mentioned very, very often, and it got put on the list of Frequently Posted Suggestions.

Special Teams need way more attention, and this is one of the areas in which it should receive some. However, knowing whether a kick was short/wide right/wide left may not be enough to know what your kicker lacks since kicking is a multifactorial equation; it's not as though strength alone determines Y/Z axes (if it's short) and kicking determines X axis (wide). A kick could be short because a kicker may have planted his foot incorrectly (agility?), not put the proper part of his foot on the proper part of the ball (kicking?), not accurately measured the ground, conditions, or snap timing (vision?), or didn't put enough leg into it (strength?).

It could give a bit of a hint, but it wouldn't be the complete answer. Still, though, I think they ought to have replays...and be blockable...and have fakes...

Would be sweet if they added weather (been suggested before) and wind. And you could actully see the ball get kicked and going by the wind.

Anyway- has it been suggested with fake FG's and fake punts before? Then it would've been even more reason for replays

Doesn't seem like it would really be that hard to simply create like 12 or 15 or so animations for kicks.

If kicker fails vision check, he's wide left or right. If he BARELY misses it, he hits the pole. If he fails distance check, the ball drops short. If he BARELY misses it, ball hits the cross bar. BARELY makes it, bar skims across the cross bar.. etc.

It honestly can't be that hard. I mean, the way the sim is set up, the kicker is going up against nobody. There are no attribute comparisons, he's rolling dice for himself and that's it, as far as I can tell.

+1

It's rather ridiculous that these don't exist.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have the winnar for most ironic post in GLB history. The biggest argument against FG replays has always been that it would be too easy to see why your kicker is missing the kicks, thus making kickers easier to build.

Not a knock on you at all, just pointing it out.

Oh, and +1. This is about 8 seasons overdue.

I have 5 kickers so the simple text outcome does bother me. Really, I'd be happy just to get this: http://firsthour.net/screenshots/tecmo-super-bowl/tecmo-super-bowl-field-goal-made-referee.PNG

What I'm saying is that it wouldn't be too easy to see why your kicker is missing the kicks because there are several factors as to why a kicker would miss short or wide.

And I agree with you.

I was merely pointing out that the argument against doing this always boiled down to the idea that it would make kickers far too easy to build.

I see. Well, the past arguents haven't been very good, then, unless that is how kicks are calculated. If that's the case, it must change. If it's so simple that "short = more strength" is all it takes, that's lazy coding.

I'm sure it's more complex than that, though, and that replays wouldn't spoil that.

Agreed.

This game needs moar FG replays. It would at least be a step in the right direction to fixing the abortion that is the current state of special teams.

yep pretty accurate imo from some keen observations, careful studying and precise decisisions i estimated the brain movement of how people react to "boltz" behavior and therefore came up with an educated guess
