That way I can ask a QB to have a preference for the open man on 3rd down, but favor the route run on 1st, or ask a CB to change his INT aggressiveness by down, or his coverage depth, etc.

we use 100 open a lot but on 3rd and 8 WHO would throw to the open HB when we're down by 4?

This would be amazing if used properly between GMs and players. For the teams with very little communication it could be a GM nightmare. Trying to figure out if it was just a bad play or a player set to the wrong coverage distance would turn into bad play, coverage distance, down coverage distance, yards to 1st down coverage distance... The GM complaints would come pouring in.

I think it could be great. But communication is key.

What I would like to see is a way for the appropriate GM (head coach, owner, or appropriate coordinator) be able to assign every player a recommended set of tactics, have any changes to that cause an Alert, and have the ability for said GMs to be able to see what the player is actually using.

Like, as a DC, I set 4 of my 5 CBs to aggressive pass defense and the other one to semi-aggressive, and it fires an alert to each of them. I can then go see what my recommendations are next to what the players are actually set to at any time.

Every good coordinator recommends tactics. Why can't we have a built-in facility for it instead of a "gosh i wonder who is reading these forum posts and not posting" or some crap like that?

its no different than the current tactics but just more of them

No, player tactics are just that, for the players.
Owners/GM's should not have another advantage or noose to cut/bench players. IE no forcing players to set their tactics.
