^^^Please.

WR1-5 already exist in the D/C. I can't imagine it'd be that hard to code the ability to select which of those spots you want within the AI packages.

QB, HB, TE and FB are already options... WR would be helpful too.

Thanks

Goes with my suggestion for the defense as well.

Yep, if you do it they need to be taggable as well.

So are you advocating an override for the WR slots or something? The numbered WR (and CB) slots are not custom slots like the other numbered slots. WR1 is a specific position on the field in GLB, as is WR2, WR3 and so forth. For example (from my suggestion http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=3595853 ), here are the WRs in the SG 5WR lineup: http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/1023/sg5wr.gif

What you are suggesting would be similar to allowing coordinators to tell the AI to use the RB depth chart to fill the FB position.

While I fully support virtually anything that allows coordinators to have more control over who is on the field at certain times in the game, I'm not sure that allowing you to put WR3 in the WR1 slot is the best way to go about it.

Still, +1.

I think the suggestion is to make the WR slots into custom slots that you can sub in and out at will, in which case they would need to be taggable on defense. Changing them from what they are now and making them something else is more what is going on here I think.

It does make sense though because there are speed WR's, possession WR's, blocking WR's, power WR's, and so on, and they all work better on some plays more than others.

OCs (and scouts/DCs) certainly need to be given control over which WRs are on the field. I use four different types of receivers in my pee wee team, and the rigamarole of trying to set the DC and substitutions patterns properly so they're usually on the field in the right position at the right time is ridiculous. I'm just afraid that doing it this way might be more confusing than it needs to be. I keep coming back to headsigh's suggestion (http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=3523500 ) to do away with the FB1, FB2-type custom slots and just allow OCs/DCs to dynamically load a different depth chart for different plays/packages.

TBH I didn't understand what the thread title was trying to convey in that thread so I never even went into it. That's probably why it didn't get a lot of response.

Still though, that has the potential of becoming more Byzantine than custom WR slots imo. The only thing I have been using the depth chart save feature for at this point is to have a back up in case someone goes in and screws things up, and to have a gut game special teams chart, which you don't need now with max XP in blowouts. That's just me though. I'm sure others use it more than me.
