i dont think i have seen this suggested anywhere but i may be wrong - if it has been suggested somewhere and i missed it im apologize

any way my suggestion is would it be possible to make it that when we decide to leave a back in to block - like for a specific play or whatever we want the RB to block right because from scouting it is noticed that a team uses a certain blitz all the time that is to one side and you want to be certain your back is at least going to the side needed to at least be in position to try and make a play

could also be set for FB i suppose if you maybe needed to send both backs to the same side to pick up an overload blitz or something

I would rather have the option to set the RB to pickup a specific blitzer or two. If you set the HB or FB to pass block, you should be able to select who he should focus on blocking, ROLB, RDE, MLB, whatever. If that guy blitzes, the HB would get a boost like defensive guys do on run focus or pass focus.

i would be happy with any ability to set who the back should focus on - i just had that thought when watching some of the games my teams have played the past few days and even though i kept backs in after scouting a team and knew when/what formations they were likely to blitz with and were successful with - the problem is that the back often blocked to the wrong side and allowed a blitzing LB in without being touched

so i would be happy with the more simplistic idea i have suggested or the ability to select a specific player
- maybe it could be set up like it is for man coverage on defense - with a checks list - like first look for LOLB, then MLB, then RDE type of thing

i think it would be a good addition to help against the blitz/blocking issues and then it would probably feel less cheated by the sim if i made the mistake to block the wrong player, although i know that could cause a new set of problems for bort if he did implement something like that

Yeah, something along those lines was what I was thinking.

ROLB -> RDE -> MLB -> DT

HB checks the ROLB, if he isn't blitzing he than checks the RDE, and if the LOT is having trouble he goes and helps him out. If the LOT has him contained, he would than check the MLB, and move on to the DT.

To be honest, this could be done for QB passing checkdowns as well.

not a problem - just another suggestion that could help teh game if it were to be implemented - at least it is something else to be looked at as an idea

Which do they do in real football? I would imagine that they just pick a type of block and a direction to start and then change focus based on incoming blitz package. I would be more happy with the original proposal than the change.
