In a much awaited mid-table battle the Cochabamba Pirates clashed with the Smartmarks FC in an away game.

True to current form, the Pirates plundered and looted the Smartmarks FC enroute to a 27-3 thrashing. Smarting from the defeat, the Smartmark's HC Mr. Not so smart proceeded to comment, "We might as well not show up for the playoff match". As per the current seedings, the Smartmarks and the Pirates are scheduled to meet in the first round of the playoffs.

The Pirates outgained their rivals 429 yards to 160 yards.

The Pirates defense stamped its authority on the game after it let the Smartmarks inside their red zone on their opening posession. Two vital stops by Johnny Basu inside the 5 yard line saw the Smartmarks gaining their only 3 points of the game.

On proceeding drives, Smartmarks could not sustain long drives and were equally undone by the dynamic duo of CB Hate Song and SS Rito Hilstar. The two combined their efforts to pick off the rathar erratic QB of the Smartmarks who barely completed 39 % of his passes.

The QB for the Pirates, Deep Ball put in another commanding performance. He continues to get better and comfortable behind the OL of the Pirates. Deep heaped showers on the OL and WR Slee Stack by saying, "I was so comfy in the pocket, I almost felt the DL was getting violated. Slee was so open I thought he was 7/11"

Head Coach Jack Sparrow had this to say about the vicory, "Although this was a crucial bounty, in the grand scheme of things we wont stop till we have plundered and looted every team on the way to the championship". The head coach also had some words of encouragement for Pirates RB Magic Mongo, "I know he has this urge to share the loot with his fellow buccaneers, but I prefer that he keep the ball to himself. The kid's magic!!".

"It's a tough loss," sighed linebacker Steven Simon. Simon recorded six tackles and a hurry in the loss yesterday. "We knew that this game was important, but they held on to the ball longer and wore us down. Everytime we had the ball, we [defence] were right back onto the field.

The Smartmarks FC showed vuneralbility out on the field with their worst performance on the season, allowing over 400 net yards while only producing just over 150 yards.

"Our offence needs to get to get going. We are doing too much complicated plays out there, but we need to simplify things. How to run, block, catch." shouted out Head Coach, Ced.

The Smartmarks FC are on a two game losing streak, but their next game isn't an easy one. They face the division leading San Jaun Ridgerunners in what is a crucial game for the football club. With only three games left in the regular season, a win against the Ridgerunners would help solidify the Smartmarks playoff position.
