Sometimes we make mistakes, or want to give guys high salaries next season, but don't want the cap hit this season.

Allow to send out contract extensions, instead of only renegotiating. Have the new salary take effect starting day 0 of the next season, and leave this years salary alone.

I'm waiting until day 40 to send mine out because of this.

With caps and such. Not much thought went into contracts that expire at end of season and being able to renegotiate the new player level in a league were they most likely surpassed the cap.
I knew we were in trouble when we stopped and used a bathroom and they had a plunger but no stick

I already suggested this with the morale tie in. We should be able to renegotiate at any time, but the pay and morale only adjust after the current contract has been fulfilled.

I could also go for:

1 - Ability to send contracts with a specific moral bonus (aka 3.1) and it would auto give the lowest salary needed to achieve the 3.1 moral bonus based on your league

or

2 - Ability to send contracts with a % of the salary cap listed. So if I wanted to give my D-Line 25% of max contracts I could send out a 3 year deal that auto paid them 25% of the salary cap for whatever league I was in

It would be nice to be able to lock up your agents for next season without having to go over the cap for the rest of this season.

This is really not needed

All you have to do is extend them at the current salary.

In the off season, you can re-do the contract higher (or even lower) and not have any affect on the current season finances

Would create more confusion than help IMO
