Thank you for the response to my question Catch22. Just to clarify when we say "LBs set to blitz" does that mean at the end of the positional line in the custom play it must end with "Zone" instead of "Blitz"? Or is that portion of a custom play being changed/removed?

Or is that portion of a custom play being changed/removed? Yeah I was wondering about this part too. Does a "blitzing" LB also include those that have other assignments first in their progression then 'blitz' at the end? Or is it just the ones that are set to blitz first?

Thanks for updating this thread with more info.
Finally, I'd like to reinforce what several people have said in this thread, and no doubt elsewhere: the DPC transition in and of itself -- i.e., changing the line shifts and so forth -- does not worry me NEARLY as much as the idea of trying to implement it across numerous teams I am responsible for. And we both know there are many coordinators who do far more teams than I do.
I do not think it is hyperbole to say that we coordinators, as a group, are no less than the lifeblood of this game. Every coordinator whose frustration drives him to randomize his password and GTFO affects dozens, if not hundreds of users in an intensely negative way. We've all seen it happen.
I therefore urge you as strongly as I can to please consider not finalizing the DPC rollout until defensive plays can be assigned to users.

That part remains the same, if a LB is set to blitz initially, he cannot be placed anywhere except the pre defined spots (Strong Normal Weak)
If his progression ends in a blitz he can be placed anywhere BUT he will revert to the predefined spots in the sim. (So there is no exploit to get around the blitz placement restrictions)
If he is set to end in Zone he can be placed anywhere (Withing reasonable football logic.)
Hopefully the testers have taken into account the LB predefined positioning in regards to defending the outside run and not just worrying about 'where they blitz from'. Oh and...

absolutely this. the thought of having to redo every custom for every team i do is scaring the hell out of me.
HUGE points that the staff will hopefully understand is ridiculously important for the DC community.
LB positioning to protect against the outside run is still possible.
A 34 D is still good against both strong and weak runs, ditto for a 4-4.
The 43 is tougher to protect both sides at the same time, so you'd need to have one LB in a zone or commit a Safety... or maybe a DE to a flat zone.
But the combination of DL shifts and LB shifts means its achievable to protect against the outside runs consistently, but it does soften the middle a little, so its risk/reward.
Same is true of commiting a safety as its risk reward vs pass/run plays.
How is the copy plays going to work etc, to transition from the old to the new
you can copy an old play and it'll set the alignments to the revised DPC requirements and be tagged as "new". All plays not tagged as new at the end of season 20 will be wiped.

Any blitz designation whether it be the initial setting or the default option at the end of the positional line.
