All of these plays show a defender who is running much slower than he should be to get to a receiving back they are assigned to cover man-to-man. I don't believe it is a vision issue because the defender is headed in the right direction, just very slowly. All of the defenders shown here have 90 - 107 speed and 63-78 agility, not bad for their level.

Not just slow-down either. The coverage on backs and TEs is deplorable in many cases and it's never been "fixed." t's to the point where I don't think he even knows how to fix it, TBH. Hell screen pass coverage is just a huge joke as well in most cases.

The Catch Fake done by the WR who he wasn't even covering? That's an interesting theory as I'd assume that catch fake would (should?) only work on the defender in m2m on the dot who is catch faking...

This has been an issue for seasons now. I'm like Toriq. You know it's screwed up, but you know it's also being ignored or the logic can't be fixed.

This is just one of the several issues. WR's double and sometimes triple blocking is also being overlooked. Players over-extending theirs zones is another.

BTW.....love the Santa Toriq.

Interesting. I do suspect there's some sort of cushion issue on this. I suppose QA should talk this one over.

Man coverage distance has always struggled on HB coverage in this sim... I think it has to do with the angle the LBs or Safeties pick up the HB or FB. Covering behind the LOS helped, but it absolutely destroyed the screen passes.

first thing: fix man coverage distance at an angle

second thing: the DPC should have settings to determine the type of coverage you want from your LBs, Safeties, and CBs. If you build a 2 deep safety defense, you should be able to set your CBs to play more aggessively against slants and underneath routes. Same goes for LBs covering HBs, you should be able to set them to Aggressive (behind LOS) or Normal or passive depending on down and situation.

I thought the same thing. It looks like they're constantly adjusting their pursuit angle to get to the HB instead of calculating an intercept point. Their pursuit behavior shouldn't really be any different than if the HB were carrying the ball (with the addition of the coverage cushion of course).

I don't know if Catch Fake can affect other defenders but from the timing of the fake and the ROLB's change of direction to the inside it seems plausible.
