Not sure if I should do either tournament style with silver playing copper in the first round or having it like gold vs silver...

MAKE SURE THE FRIENDLY IS A RANKED SCRIMMAGE AND OT PLAYOFF STYLE AND SALARARY MORALE BONUSES ON.
And to be to both teams, make sure the scrimmage happens either early on an odd day or late on an even day so both teams have equivalent amounts of EXP/games played.
