This is a strange issue that I'll have to look at closer tomorrow when I have more time. I'll try and look through some of my own games for this issue before requesting GM access. If I can replicate it in my own games obviously it's a bug of some type.

Needs more info for now

Yep same behavior that Time Trial mentioned on mine as well. In flash, the players went from 10 -> 100, and display a full energy bar.

Watching the same replays in non-flash, they show a ? for the number, and a completely empty energy bar on the following plays.

Can't find it with my teams, but I think our stamina is too high. PM'd with OP and waiting on access and replay linkage to a PeeWee game for a closer look.

Ok, I was granted access to the peewee squad and verified the OP.

Players' energy is being drained to 10 one play and is automatically back at 100 the very next play with no time off the field.

Players' energy is draining to 10, the spend one play off the field, and come back at 100.

No idea why this happens, possibly it's intended to a degree for the very low levels idk.

Likely a bug.

I'd like to get access to the page source of the plays in question, and the players we're looking at.

On Firefox, that's right click -> View Page Source -> then save the whole thing that pops up, then do the same on the second play.

It would be interesting to see if this is a case of the viewer being broken or the data itself. I know when breath bars first rolled out there were issues of incomplete data which in turn caused the viewer to break for that player for the whole play and things like that.

The data could be PM'd to me, or emailed if that's simpler - PM me for an email addr.

PM sent to OP for GM access. Once I've reviewed the play data fields I'll post relevant pieces in thread and we'll move this along.

I've PM'd the page source from a few plays over - but I took the time to dig through a bunch more, and it's not letting me send him more PMs, because apparently there's a 3 limit on unreads.

Anyways, here's what I've found ...

Breath is allowing a floor of 5, not 10 on every single one of the plays where this is popping up (and with peewee energy levels, there's a TON of them).

1) When a player starts a play at 10 or above - the display works correctly in flash + non-flash.
2) When a player drops from 10+ to the 5-9 range during a play, the display will LOCK on 10 in flash + non-flash, but the play source will indicate a progression from say 12 - 11 - 10 - 9 - 8, etc. ...

When a player starts a play below 10:
Flash - Will display 100 breath and it WILL not move, regardless of how long the play takes. Morale will show accurately.
Non-Flash - Will display empty bars, and ? / ? for breath and morale when moused over. The page source will indicate the actual numbers from 9-5 in play_var and once at 5, the player will not drop further, regardless of how long the play takes ...

So if the intended floor for breath is 10, then the issue seems to be coming from the sim engine itself. If the intended floor was changed to 5, it seems like the replay engine didn't get updated accordingly.

Cheers!

This took me a while to get to look at the data, but Gambler has a lot of it.

Part of the problem is that the play data field is not generating a complete list of players for the last tick. I believe the display engine has trouble when that happens.
Also there are cases where the play_data shows breath 0 for the whole play. That's also broken.

I think Bort needs to just look through this game as an example and see what he can come up with; he's the one who knows what pieces generate what under the covers.
I *suspect* this is a display error, but we can't really be sure.

Bug, first verification.

Nice catch, I missed that one digging through - I just saw all the br: 0 / mo: 0 entries for the opposing team + the ball tracking. (where I didn't have GM access to both sides)

That is probably what I was seeing with the breath 0 points - so the real issue is going to be with incomplete play_data arrays. I know we have seen that before, I just thought it got fixed. I'll dig around when I ahve time for that thread.

Thanks for getting on this. This has been annoying me since the day the breath bars were rolled out.

I have no reason to disagree with Nib's assessment here... filing.
