I think it would be helpful if HBs could adjust their tactics depending on the type of play. Running styles may be different if the play is an inside hand-off vs. an outside screen pass.
I know personally, I would like to see my HB have a more elusive running style when he has caught a screen pass and a less elusive style when running a dive play.

I'm tired of my HB dancing around in the backfield on straight up dive plays!

I certainly see your point, but that would involve a level of complexity that GLB has stated they don't want to get into. IIR the way it works is that your HB follows a certain path till a point, at which time makes a vision check and chooses the best way to proceed from there.

The best you can do is find the plays where the decision point is closer to the line than other plays. Some are much closer than others. The one nice thing is that if your Elusive Back makes it past the LOS without getting tackled, on a high Elusive setting, he can do some real damage.

I'll +1 it, but it's likely going to be a NGTH.

Game could naturally adjust based on distance from the C.

You have to have a designed path for a RB that goes in the direction that the play was supposed to go, and at some point in that play the RB has to use his vision to take a different angle.

The way it is coded now, is that for every play there is a set "Path" a RB will take. Once he reaches the end of that "Path" he makes a Vision check, and chooses a new path based on what he sees.

Unfortunately(or rather fortunately) there is no way to change that distance other than by changing the play definition. Giving coaches the ability to change that path, or even the path distance, is pretty much tantamount to an OPC for run plays. And as we know, the OPC is currently on the NGTH list.

I just think it would give the agent more control. In the individual tactics have different sliders for between tackle runs, outside runs, screen passes, normal passes, etc. I guess you could do the same for Receivers on different pass plays (screen passes, short passes, medium, deep, etc.)

just have two HBs.

One that is a power back in HB1 and your elusive back in HB2.

Then if you want to 'mix' it up, put them both in the HB slot and have some plays where either can go outside or inside to help throw off scouters.

As for your HB dancing around on dive plays, that's sounds like a bug. You should grab all of the dance moves you see and post it as a bug.

then again, they will say 'it was designed that way' and that it's not a bug and then tell you to make a suggestion then you'll be right back here. so.

suck it up and deal with the fracked up part of the game.. for now.. maybe someday someone will stop programming pretty buttons on the webpage and actually fix the back end issues that we all see season after season. Probably why I haven't purchased flexpoints in over a year.

if they actually listened to some of the problems I have it would be worth me putting cash back into this game.

i agree that they are doing more for the appearance of the game rather than the game itself

Yeah, I see your point, but in reality Jerome Bettis doesn't suddenly become Barry Sanders outside the hash marks. There are in fact different kinds of backs, and teams use them differently because they run with different styles.

I could see some subtle shifts, but overall I think its a bad idea to give players the best of both worlds.
