So if I buy a candy bar it will have a bugs ticket? Or maybe if I drink a beer

Said this elsewhere: what's the thinking behind such a change? Since we can't have game is broken threads, and now we are heading towards the extinction of a "this bit of the game is broken" forum, where is discussion going to take place? Private forums only, if we want to get together as a userbase and evaluate things we find iffy?

I can't understand the purpose of the proposed change.

Edit: And I think it will result in bugs mods being hit with a deluge of tickets, with tons of individuals sending individual examples and queries, rather than them posting one after the other within a coherent thread.

This is what I guess what will happen is somebody thinks there is a bug

1. They send in a ticket like support
2. Bug Mods take a look.
3. It gets posted in the bug forum.
4. Bug Mods say it is a bug or not a bug
5. Public is able to provide more examples

what I think this is more about, is to help create the bug matrix. Right now the bug mods have to fill in the info and create the spreadsheet. The ticket system will make it so they don't have to
I wonder what ever happened to customer service. A business should back up their own stuff, not have to rely on a client to prove that something went wrong.

i sure hope so. but my fear is that it'll be:
1) send in ticket
2) auto response: working as intended

I think it should be...

1. Post a suspected bug.
2. If seen as a possible bug by Bug Mods it is created as a ticket.
3. Ticket is then opened and worked on my GLB developers.
4. Ticket has a link to the forum post of the suspected bug and developer can find examples, if any are posted.
5. Final conclussion of the ticket is shown at the end of the thread.

One issue is banning multiple offenders of posting "joke" threads/posts in the bug forum. Not forum banning, just bug forum banning. Would help clean up things.

dont change something just to change it. What is the perceived benefit of the ticket system?

Probably to make it easier for bug mods to work on, and limit multiple bug mod to one problem

If it goes to a ticket system than how will the user base discuss how broken or not broken the game is as a community?

Exaaaaaaactly.

This game will never leave Beta as long as people keep getting together and discussing what's wrong with the game. Once people are in the dark about what other people are talking about, then there won't be a unified voice calling for improvement, and people will all think they're in the minority when they are disappointed at GLB moving out of Beta despite such glaring holes.

best McSpiffy post ever

instead of reading it in the forum they read it in their PM box or some other place?

The lack of community replies and examples makes it much more difficult for the bugs mod i would think. As does limiting the bugs mods as to who works on what.

So i can easily see what they are losing but no idea whats being gained

I'm getting outsourced!

TBH Catch's plans for this should be much better. You could at least let him roll it out before you hate on it.

what is the benefit of it? And does that benefit outweigh the loss of community posting examples or even answering the thread correctly with a resolution before the bugs mod even does anything?

Lot of speculation in this thread. There are several reasons why we are going to a ticketing system. It's a business decision and not one that we need approval from customers to implement or one where we have to explain our reasoning.

As for issues that require community discussion such as needing more examples/replays or information, there will be a procedure in place to do that.

If you have any questions about Bugs, feel free to contact me via pm or contact Support and we will be happy to assist you.
