The defensive dot placement/setup wasn't having this issue up until a couple of days ago... I watch the pbp for every game and haven't altered the DAI or any of the custom plays (other than for 4WR spread) for quite some time.

LO and RO on TEs. Literally a 10 yard cushion on some slow ass TEs. Calling that "man defense" in a football sim is uproarious, regardless of the stats of the OLBs or where they lined up.

The SS is actually in a Under Strong Fourth zone - that's right, his zone is 6-7 yards off the LOS. He sees WR2 go through his zone, and decides to "pick him up" by giving him a 12 yard cushion. Not sure if it's the same bug, but it's something gone horribly wrong.

Same thing with the FS in an under middle zone here: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1979321&pbp_id=6731332 Picks up his man and then drops 12 yards off (wayyyyyyyy out of the zone he's supposed to be in, which would place him MUCH closer to the WR).

It's pretty awful right now, and there seems to be no way to prevent it happening. One time a CB will decide to stay reasonably close to his WR, the next play, the same CB will hand that WR a nice 5+ yard cushion and watch as his guy makes an easy catch. Was so bad in our last game I had to PM the DC to check that we actually were even covering certain dots on some plays - the covering defender was standing so far off throughout the play that it was hard to tell who he was assigned to.

Yep, there's damn near nothing you can do. Is it happening on the same plays? I'm gonna ISLAM the hell out of this season if it is.

this play from another post seems to show the LO doing something similar

They look like they are beating feet to get to a zone coverage location. Seems like the LO (in the 4th replay) gets 'there' just a touch late, turns and chases the WR who had just moved through the LO's zone?

So -- what are the tactics set for on those dots? and what are their assignments?

pass focus
-51 distance
medium coverage
build is open

I would have guessed they were low level and headed out for a zone but couldn't make stop/cut to stay there. But looking at the build, that shouldn't be the case.

Looking at the one with the LOLB it looks kind of like he's shadowing the HB.

My play. He's actually set to cover FB Strong>HB Strong. There are several bug threads open with similar issues like this. OP has the CB set to cover the HB I'd imagine.

There are HUGE cushions being given at times since the changes.
