Good point. I'm thinking that some of the illogical racist sheep here would still say that Zimmerman deserved it, despite the fact that it appears he did nothing illegal prior to the physical assault.

The gun wasn't even a factor until Zimmerman was on his back and imminently losing consciousness. This isn't even a Stand Your Ground case. It's a simple case of self defense.

Jump: To attack suddenly and violently.

Implicit in the concept of jumping someone is that the attacked is unsuspecting of the sudden attack. Zimmerman followed someone who he viewed as suspicious around for a number of minutes. He obviously thought that Martin was some type of threat or he would not have called the police. Martin reacting with physical violence to the fact that he was being followed around (whether he did is still unclear) by an unknown man cannot be considered jumping someone. BCE seems to be using the word for its thugish connotations since that's the type of person he is trying to portray Martin as being.
