4 Dlineman and a MLB get the job done against 5 OL 2 TEs and a FB. Yeah they should totally stop the runner within 1 yard on a consistent basis, you are totally right

And GL defenses inside the 5 loaded with GL stopper just get waxxed too. Ya you can stop rushing for minimal yardage of 2-3 yards if you sell all out but thats a bit steep.
I provide an offense that spreads the legs of the defense and delivers the coconuts in a variety of ways.

And many of them just feel as though it is GLB's answer to tone the passing game down a notch. Which it has just become the main defense to passes...hoping for RNG badness.

A lot of bad passes are caught too tho. Someone said in another forum and I agree, that if they never put bad pass in the replay text you wouldn't even know it was a bad pass half the time.

Have seen that a time or two, far a few between. Hard for me to look at the play text now, knowing it will read "bad pass... hurried by..." on 75% or more of the pass plays

I do know this, if your offense have an average O-Line, you were screwed either way regardless... and that has more to do with it than a QB build or game planning.

Not only will it not fix it. It shouldn't. The answer to making the run not churn out 3-5 yards a pop should not come from an artificial penalty deterring an OC from calling a certain play. It isn't the OC's fault said play works that well.

Agreed.

I'm sorry but everywhere I look in GLB I constantly see defenses with 1-2 extra CBs and spread to the edges play after play after play regardless of offensive formation. Then I also see dots lined up against the OLine and people wondering why the runner gets behind them all after a blockers holds their block for .5 seconds. There is absolutely no reason not to run the ball up the middle right now. There is absolutely no reason to try to force the pass/pitch game right now either, it was a matter of time before offenses started shifted heavily to up the middle dotball, now you'll just have to adjust with them before crying "unfair" as soon as your tried and true tested defenses stop working against a certain play style

It's incredibly boring to watch? For both sides?

This should be somewhat effective for stopping the run. But it gets completely plowed over and over again in this drive. Of course taut mixes it up with a more pass style defense in there too but regardless...hes ripped over and over.

That's exactly what I was saying. However, I've seen worst in one of my games, I'll look for the play later. I blitzed 3 guys from the weak side (ROLB, RILB and FS) and left the LILB a close there. They ran to that side, the FB picked up the ROLB, the OG held the RILB, FS and DT on block and the HB went for 7 yard gains in WL.

Also, look at this:

Yeah, that's actually one of the better defense setups against a run I've seen. Should've only gotten 2 yards tops barring no missed tackles/failed vision checks from defenders

Just watch that entire drive. It's pretty indicative of the problem this season.
