The app is by far the easiest way to manage players. That is all it does, but it does it quite well. It's interface is much more efficient than a browser for that. TPs, SPs, player creation, and VPs are much easier to manage through the app.
If you're expecting a full function app then it sucks, but for what it is it's great.
