These guides are for use with the ¤ Rebel Alliance ¤ Dot Starter Guide http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=5009067

You'll get specifics on what height and or weight to start with, and what attribute you want to shoot up to the second cap. Then the guide will lay out a rough plan for what to do with your first season, and then some vague ideas on how the rest of the build should go.

QB Pocket Passer

Bonus SA: Look Off (Build will have high vision minimizing the importance of Quick Read)

Height: Max for +2 Vision. Weight: optional

Big 3: Vision, Throwing, Confidence

Starting Build: 25 Vision (27), 18 Throwing

Because you start out with 27 in Vision, you'll only need to buy +10% enhancement to start with. By Day 48 you'll be able to buy 1 SP and cap Vision at 49. Keep pounding Vision, and on day -3 you be able to 2 cap Vision at 61.01. That same day, you'll be able to buy Vision Multi-training, and start training throwing on the swing attribute. Because you skimped on your Vision enhancement, you can also buy the Throwing enhancement at +20% at the same time.

Day 9/10: You'll 3 cap Vision. Congratz you are done with Vision.

Day 17/18: You'll cap Throwing at 49.03. Now, if you've been following along and have been saving your BTs, you'll want to unlock Throwing and Confidence multi-training for 30 BTs. You should be able to also buy the Confidence enhancement at 10% and the Strength enhancement at 10%. Set the multi-training to Vison/Throwing/Confidence with Strength on the swing.

Day 27/28: You'll 2 cap throwing at 60.71. You can buy the 20% enhancement for confidence at the same time, and then a couple days later pick up the +30% for it.

Hang on to your Boosts, no matter what your playoff chances are.

Around Day 45, depending on when your training rolls over, you'll be able to buy 1 SP again for 15 BTs, and 3-cap Throwing at 68.05. Then you can boost 3 times and immediately 4-cap Throwing at 74.06.

|| At this point you'll have 40 BTs sitting around. A lot of agents will advocate for buying more training enhancements, and bringing everything up to 30% or more. || For the sake of this build, I'm going to show what happens when you do not. Remember, at this point, I'm only sitting at +10% Vision, +20% Throwing, and +30% || Confidence.

Here's what we look like at the end of the 1st season.

Then Boost the 3rd time and you can 1-cap Confidence at 48.40. You are now L25 and your VXP starts rolling in.

That's the end of the begining.

From here on out, it's all down hill. The trick to maximizing the rest of the build is to watch your swing attributes, and switch out of them when they hit 30 (or so).

As far as what caps to do for the rest of the build, that's up for debate. Right now, after many seasons of being almost worthless, Confidence is now looking pretty good for QBs. Will it stay that way? Who knows.

I'm just going to finish off this build with a goal of 3 AEQ in mind.

You can see how much throwing and vision have grown. Now we're at the point where we want to step down to light training to rack up some BTs for AEQ. Here's the pay-off for doing the 10/20/30% enhancement method. Both Vision and Throwing are outside of the ideal training range for Light training. Confidence (which I only took up to the 5 cap, this time) is going to be my light training target.

Is that the ultimate QB build in the universe? Probably not. There's plenty of room for debate in this one. A lot of people would swap Strength for Confidence. Which would be completely valid. This QB would just be a little more immune to Hurries and pressure for more on target throws. More Stam? More Agility? More Carry? Sure why not. Too Many BTs? Probably.

QB Scrambler

There are 2 basic schools of thought for Scrambler QBs.

#1) A QB who can also run a little bit--a Gunner.

#2) A RB that can also throw a little bit--a Runner.

===

The Gunner

Bonus SA: Look Off

Height: Max for +2 Vision. Weight: optional

Big 3: Vision, Throwing, Confidence or Strength

Starting Build: 25 Vision (27), 18 Throwing

The Gunner develops exactly like a Pocket Passer QB all the way through the beginning of the build. The differences come in the middle where instead of pushing Strength and Confidence way up, they settle for lower caps there to pick up more caps in Speed, Agility and Carry. The major drawback to Scrambling QBs is they have no ALG in Stamina, so that gets capped last.

The end of a Gunner might look like...

Player Value Calculator
Player Value = 1626.73

Because of the need to cap Stamina at the very end of the build, there's a lot less SPs left over to invest in SAs.

===

The Runner

Bonus SA: Spin

Height: Minimum for +2 Agility. Weight: Minimum

Big 3: Agility, Speed, Carry

Starting Build: 25 Agility (27), 18 Speed

A Runner is one of the most challenging builds in the game to pull off. Most people skirt this by making the Runner into a 100% pure HB. The drawback to this approach is that it's pretty obvious what the QB is going to do, and with tagging, becomes much easier to shut down. The ability to throw dump offs will keep the defense honest. It's probably better to sneak in a 1 cap of throwing early and let it grow; possibly as the first swing attribute.

An ending build for a Runner could look like...

Player Build

All AEQ goes to Speed of course, and it's usually % fake pieces and %BT pieces.

Another twist on the Runner is a Power Runner. In the build above Strength and Speed would be switched. Spin and Power Thru become the SAs of choice and Stiff Arm in the Scrambler Tree becomes an option. The added Strength could also make him a slightly more effective passer as well. There's a big difference between 148+ speed and 132+ speed though.
