These guides are for use with the € Rebel Alliance € Dot Starter Guide http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=5009067

You'll get specifics on what height and or weight to start with, and what attribute you want to shoot up to the second cap. Then the guide will lay out a rough plan for what to do with your first season, and then some vague ideas on how the rest of the build should go.

Run Blocking

Bonus SA: Spot Blitz

Height: Optional Weight: Max for +2 Strength/Blocking

Big 3: Strength, Blocking, Agility

Starting Build: 25 Strength (27), 18 (20) Blocking ** Note: Strength and Blocking are interchangeable in this build

Because you start out with 27 in Strength, you'll only need to buy +10% enhancement to start with. By Day 48 you'll be able to buy 1 SP and cap Strength at 49. Keep pounding Strength, and on Day 0 you be able to 2-cap Strength at 61.50. That same day, you'll be able to buy Strength Multi-training, and start training Blocking on the swing attribute. Because you skimped on your Strength enhancement, you can also buy the Blocking enhancement at +20% at the same time. Then on Day 2 go ahead and pick up the +20% enhancement for Strength.

Day 9/10: You'll 3-cap Strength. Maintain double Training.

Day 17/18: You'll 4-cap Strength at 73.50. Congratz Strength is done Maintain double Training.

Day 25/26: You cap Blocking at 49 even. Maintain double Training.

Hang on to your Boosts, no matter what your playoff chances are.

Around Day 47, depending on when your training rolls over, you be able to 2-cap Blocking before boosting. Then you can boost and hold onto those SPs. Finally, you can set up your 4-way training. Strength/Blocking/Agility with Vision on the swing. Pick up the 20% enhancement for agility as well. You won't need any of the 30% enhancements, nor any of the 10% enhancements. At the end of the build you'll be doing Normal training, and that makes the 20% level most efficient. There's plenty of time to get through the other attributes so you don't need to speed up the process with the swing enhancements.

Easy Cheesey so far right? You can 3-cap Blocking anytime before the season starts, might as well wait till your last 4-way training session or day 0.

Hang onto your Boosts.

Day 10: You hit L22, you can 4-cap Blocking at 73.38. Then boost 3 times and 5-cap Blocking at 77.50.

Day 17/18: 6-cap Blocking.

Day 30/31: You can Bring Blocking up to match Strength at 85.56, depending you where your training is at. Your Vision is probably ready to change out. You can do Stam on Speed next. Just run Agility up to the 7-cap mark. As your multi-train.

That's pretty much all there is to this build. Just 2-cap everything else. Keep your swing attribute below 30, and do Confidence last--if you have extra multi-training time just run confidence up. At age 200, you'll have to switch to Normal Training. The safest approach is to bring all the attributes up so they are ready to roll over on day -8 of the last season of the build, and then just normal train agility the rest of the way, 2-capping stuff as the points come. Vision. Speed, Stam, Confidence.

Just enough BTs for 3 AEQ. O-linemen aren't SA intensive at all. Most WL elitists will say that all AEQ goes into Hold Block % gear. I don't buy that. 21% is fine and then buy a couple Foundation pieces and then use all the SPs on the Get Low and Spot Blitz.

The reason I advocate 3 AEQ builds for o-linemen is because the o-line/d-line interaction is always changing. Every season since GLB has began, there have been changes to the blocking code one way or another. Different types of linemen on both sides of the ball have come into fashion and faded into obscurity. This particular build should stand the test of time. The regular EQ slot can be switched around as needed. So if Techman become the new hot thing for all d-linemen to do. Then it's very easy to shoot up to 102 Agility which would mean the opposing d-lineman would need to be over 112 Agility to make Techman fire, which requires using at least one full AEQ slot to do, which detracts from their strength.

Now the only real difference between a Pass Block and a Run Block archetype are the VAs.

I'm not entirely convinced that Max Protect is cool enough to ever make me want to play a Pass Block Archetype though.

Other than that, all o-linemen need high strength, blocking and agility. Some just need it in different amounts. Like a LT who is usually facing Pass Rush DEs needs much more Agility. So for a LT you could easily use this build, and just stack however much agility EQ you need. Want to shut off Techman? do the 3 AEQ slots in agility--131 would be enough--that'd mean the DE would need Agility of 144. Is 131 too much? Ok then do 2 AEQs and use the REQ slot if/when needed. That's all going to depend on current trends in the sim, player builds, and any buffs/nerfs that happen before your player is fully grown.

-- For the sake of completeness, I'll do a 4 AEQ Pass Blocker but don't take that to mean that's the method I endorse.

Pass Blocker

Bonus SA: Spot Blitz

Height: Minimum for +2 Agility Weight: Max for +2 Blocking

Big 3: Blocking, Agility, Strength

Starting Build: 25 (27) Blocking, 18 (20) Agility **Note: Blocking/Agility are interchangeable

With this build, you'll want to get through Blocking and Agility faster to get to Strength. I recommend starting with blocking just because it'll make for a less painful first season for your team. Just do a 3-cap of blocking and match it with a 6-cap of agility and then dig right into strength. Everything else is pretty standard. You'll probably want to go for the 30% enhancement in Strength just because for 4 AEQ, you have to spend a decent chunk of time doing light training and you'll want to bring your strength up. You should end up with something like...

More time spent doing light training causes you to lose training on your Blocking and Agility. That's another reason why I normally do 3 AEQ builds. If you did a pass blocker with 3 AEQ it'd end up looking almost identical to the above Run Blocker build with the Strength and Agility reversed. Of course, you could easily use that method with the pass blocker as well--just flip the strength and agility.
