These guides are for use with the ¤ Rebel Alliance ¤ Dot Starter Guide http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=5009067

You'll get specifics on what height and or weight to start with, and what attribute you want to shoot up to the second cap. Then the guide will lay out a rough plan for what to do with your first season, and then some vague ideas on how the rest of the build should go.

==

Because Kickers and Punters are almost identical, having the same archetypes and ALGs I'm only going to do 1 full build. All anyone has to do is substitute Kicking for Punting and/or Strength for Vision, depending on which position and archetype you're looking for. For Technicians starting with +2 Vision, minimum weight can be used to balance the loss of Stamina. For Boomers, minimum height should be used. There's no real significant advantage to be gained by height and/or weight other than the attribute bonuses.

Kicker Boomer

Bonus SA: Closing Speed

Height: Minimum for +2 Stamina Weight: Max for +2 Strength

Big 3: Strength, Kicking, Confidence

Starting Build: 25 Strength (27), 20 Kicking

Because you start out with 27 in Strength, you'll only need to buy +10% enhancement to start with. By Day 48 you'll be able to buy 1 SP and cap Strength at 49. Keep pounding Strength, and on day -3 you be able to 2 cap Strength at 61.01. That same day, you'll be able to buy Strength Multi-training, and start training Kicking on the swing attribute. Because you skimped on your Strength enhancement, you can also buy the Kicking enhancement at +20% at the same time.

Day 9/10: You'll 3-cap Strength. Congratz you are done with Strength

Day 17/18: You'll cap Kicking at 49.03. Now, if you've been following along and have been saving your BTs, you'll want to unlock Kicking and Confidence multi-training for 30 BTs. You should be able to also buy the Vision enhancement at 10% and the Confidence enhancement at 10%. Set the multi-training to Confidence/Kicking/Strength with Vision on the swing.

Day 27/28: You'll 2-cap throwing at 60.71. You can buy the 20% enhancement for Confidence at the same time, and then a couple days later pick up the +30% for it.

Hang on to your Boosts, no matter what your playoff chances are.

Around Day 45, depending on when your training rolls over, you'll be able 3-cap Kicking at 68.05. Then you can boost 3 times and immediately 4-cap Kicking at 74.06.

At this point you'll have 40 BTs sitting around. A lot of agents will advocate for buying more training enhancements, and bringing everything up to 30% or more. For the sake of this build, I'm going to show what happens when you do not. Remember at this point I'm sitting at +10% Strength, +20% Kicking, and +30% Confidence.

Here's what we look like at the end of the 1st season.

Hang on to your boosts.

Day 7/8: You hit L21 and can 5-cap kicking.

Day 10: You hit L22. You can boost once and 6-cap Kicking. Congratz you're done with it Then boost up and you can 1-cap Confidence at the same time.

So that's the end of the beginning. From here, just 6-cap Confidence and Vision, and 2-cap Agility and Jumping. I prefer the +58 bonus that 4 AEQ gets you, but this build could just as well do 3 AEQ. I'll do 4 AEQ this time, so Light training should start around Age 160. I'd recommend using the last bit of multi-training to increase Stamina as Age 160 approaches, maybe start around Age 120. Almost everyone agrees that mid 20s is more than enough Stamina for Ks and Ps.

Here's what I came up with this time.

Player Value Calculator
Player Value = 1673.69

So with 4 AEQ, I'd buy 2 pieces of Calm nerves, and 2 pieces of Big Boot. There's no relevant % gear for kickers. Automatic has almost no value to a good kicker.

There's no amazingly important choice for the bonus SA. At the very end of the build, I chose to tune my BT needs by doing light, normal, and some intense training in Speed to bring it to the 1st cap. So now when combined with the 7 in Closing Speed, my kicker has a decent shot of saving a TD return on kickoffs.

So, you can see the difference that choosing a Boomer or Technician can make: That's a pretty significant difference--a 20 point difference between Strength and Vision is bound to show up in the end of career totals. Which one is better? That depends on if you value banging home more 50+ yarders or missing fewer 40+ yarders. Do you value dramatic kicks, or do you value consistency?

For Punters, they get a chance to off-set build differences with AEQ choices. A Boomer can stack Calm Nerves gear to give him a boost to punting accuracy, making the difference between Boomer and Technician punter less visible.
