Crazy - he should have gone right for it or just stood there, not both. I'm wondering why he stood there for so long and then still eventually went to pick it up.
In general, the sim doesn't expect you to miss catching pitches (not supposed to happen).

The D line was 3-5 levels lower than the O line. I know level isn't everything, but it's just something to consider. Maybe the D line does have solid builds for their level...but so did the O line (and so higher level is the winner).
As for as the D-Line goes, chance had it that all of the backups were subbed in on that play, as none of those are in starting slots.
My theory was that the back tripped, hit his head and fell unconcious. The LB immediately recognized this and ran for a paramedic. The offensive and defensive linemen slowly made room so that the medical cart could get onto the field. Meanwhile, the RB snapped to, saw the ball, jumped up and ran for the first down marker.
