Atlanta Birds owner , Canesftballfan, has let it be known he will not accept outspoken or outruly players. Several players who signed multi year contract and are starters have asked for a trade, mainly b/c they want a new team. Canes states hes fed up with players acting like they run the team. " If they want a new deal they can get one, just as soon as their current deal is up. " states Canes. "Weve got guys here whos working their tale off to just get a job and you get these premadonna's that think they have the "leverage". We will see what leverage they have after sitting and getting no playing time for 3 years. "

Players are quoted to compare Canes to Bill Belicheat and Marvin Lewis. Canes is even quoted saying " i wont let these players "ocho cinco" this franchise

*LOL* Dude....really? maybe you try working things out instead of taking this course of action. sit them all you want....they'll still be eating up your salary and in 3 years when you've bankrupted your team and end up losing it....well you'll just have ruined EVERYONES experience including your own. Why not just try trading them and asking just for their signing bonuses as trade and building a HAPPY team that WANTS to play for you? Just a suggestion though

And your point? this is supposed to be a game. Quite honestly IMHO they where dumb to sign a 3-4 contract without knowing the owner, but by that respect you where also trying to take advantage of newbies when they first come on and don't know any better.

If you get your signing bonus money back from a trade I don't see how it costs you anything or why you would have a problem letting them play on a team they want to play for, as long as you get your money back all's even.

Seems to me you are just trying to show them who's boss instead of trying to enhance the game for everyone involved including yourself.

They just got the team this morning. I doubt he's taken the time to find out about trade potential.

With all the threads he's started on this, he's starting to sound like someone who doesn't believe he's broken up until he sees the restraining order.

He's full of it! SOME players asked to be cut because they want an oppurtunity to start, others asked because he is a rude owner who expresses his discontent rudely. He started a forum telling players to shut up and play their terms and if they don't like it they can ride the bench for their whole contract.

One player addressed his "tone" and said she didn't care about whether she was benched and suggested he deal with the players better. After he berated her another player stood up and said that he should try to right the ship before it sinks and was promptly banned from the forum. Another player (mine) stood up and said "I'll sit because the ownership is getting out of hand, besides I have a short-term low end deal anyway" and was banned from the forum.

The situation on this team is out of control, players aren't even allowed to speak up when trying to stay ON the team.

A Leader - A person who guides a team to a common goal

A Dick - A person who acts in a way as to take away from others, to make up for short comings in their own lives

A little of history here so everyone knows who I am. I am the person who stood up for the player that Canes berated and told her to stop acting like a woman, and that females shouldn't be allowed to play this game. As soon as I did this, I was banned/benched. I had another person not too long ago ask to trade for me only because a friend of mine is on the team. Nothing ever happened and that was fine by me. I didn't get upset, or try to undermine anyone's authority. I wasn't acting like a Prima Donna, I didn't care if I started or not. I just wanted to play the game. Now, I am being punished only because I spoke my mind, which is something that our team owner has had no problem doing since day one. The forums are for everyone to communicate. I understand that you paid for the team and that you are the boss. Noone was disputing that. I certainly wasn't. All I tried to do was get you to take a step back and realize that you were pushing the players away with your attitude.

This guy running the Birds is a horrible owner. I'm sorry I ever accepted the contract for his "team". The only person that looks like an idiot is the owner.

Well I guess we all know why he wants players to sign long term deals...
