OK lets face it. The biggest controversy this whole season (though rivaled) is missed tackles/powerbacks. My personal top 5 of controversy this season goes like this.
1. Missed Tackles
2. WR/CB tug-o-war
3. Power Backs
4. OT/DE tug-o-war
5. Elusive Backs
I will handle each in order.
1) Missed Tackles
OK, you've got a good DT with high strength and tackling. You think you're good for season 3 and earlier like stats of nto missing tackles? Wrong. You have an increased chance to make the regular tackles but there are probably a bunch of invisible factors when you see the missed tackle numbers.
1) Were you being blocked?
2) Did you take a bad angle?
3) How far away was the ball carrier?
These are things that usually lead to missed tackles. Tackling is now increasing the radius of your tackling aura because my DT smashes WR drag routes and HB dump passes over the middle with an immediate tackle behind his dot even though he is still pushing on the Olinemen a split second before. But if he is chasing down a pitch he will probably lose the battle due to a stiff arm/bad angle.
OK lets also face this fact. ALL PLAYERS MISS TACKLES! Look at the NFL? DO you see ONE game in which even ONE defense doesn't miss a tackle? Nope. College? Nope. Bort wants this game a simulation of real football. It will never be spot on in my minds eye but we have to face the fact PEOPLE MISS TACKLES.
2) WR/CB Tug-O-War
OK you all have a right to complain. Honestly, Bort is doing AI tweaking to your positions and it is happening often. He is trying to find the 'working as intended' sweetspot but you WRs cannot complain when you've dropped passes wide open after you catch in double and triple coverage.
CBs, stop your whining as well. You're gonna let up some catches once and a while. Some of you have legit things brought up (such as triple coverage catches) but the majority of you guys had good corners last year and are complaining because you gave up more than 3 catches in a game. IT HAPPENS, now tackle the WR please.
3) Power Backs
You guys are getting your payoff. You guys have Cbs and LBs complaining when you break 7 tackles in a play and go for a TD. You guys may be slow but strong. This also means we need something implemented that makes players easier to tackle after a close break, or the implementation of team tackling.
Point is: Cbs and LBs have been ignoring strength and tackling, you keep on keepin on and our complaining will go down once people realize you need strength in the game of football other than being a RB or linemen.
4) OT/DE Tug-O-War
I have to say DEs should have their asses covered on this. The initial changes were AMAZING but OTs couldn't handle the fact that they needed more than a combined 40 points in speed and agility. DEs have 5 stats they need to worry about, OTs have 2 at the moment. OTs quit ur whining when a DE beats you over the edge because he actually has speed and agility. You need it too but your player does not have it. Suck it up and add some points to it next level up instead of your 4 for 1 tradeoff on strength or blocking please.
DEs, You guys have the right to complain as the game is currently catering to Olinemen in the trenches. Keep up with the best GLB to real life builds I've seen as a whole in GLB. You were well rewarded in the first few games of the season.
5) Elusive Backs
OK this isn't fairly well known but Elusive backs are wondering why the hell they ain't getting broken tackles. Its' simple...You didn't get touched therefore no missed tackle! You juke out so many people you don't know it and you are complaining without getting a stat. Sure you are getting lower YpC than the average Power Back this season but sooner or later when defenses can handle powerbacks better or Bort tweaks the sim/AI you guys will get your good YpC number with your fluctuating yards between your 80 yard TD carries and -2 to 2 yard carries that stop you before you get started.
OK time for a bonus:
6) AI
This season has been great for me. I didn't set up a 100 play AI book on both sides of the ball nor did I make any stupid plays. DONT blame the AI for picking the wrong things to happen especially after we got test games before we got to the real deal. Broken plays are just that, plays that do not work. Cover 0 Zone, Cover 3 Man, all that crap people seem to be complaining about and 'blown coverage' is just excuses for your own stupidity. If it is a legit bug like a bad checkdown on your AI or the QB didn't throw the ball on a pass play with good vision and open receivers even after like 10 seconds thats a bug. Not the fact you got burned on a Cover 0 all man no blitz play.
