Maybe he bumped into the FS, but I doubt it.

No one to bump into here.

He got pump faked, pretty hard.

Hard to believe a pump fake was effective with a FS that has 70 vision & the CB has 60 - both freeze in their tracks. The FS has +7 in supervision as well. Almost same play run where this happens

So 70 in an attribute should completely negate a player's SA that is probably at 8-9?

There's a clear pump fake animation in each replay. Not much doubt about that one.

As someone whose had his over 70 vision/11 SV CB freeze several times this season on plays that don't have a pump fake with that type of animation, it's nice to see that sometimes the animation is that clear.

As to DB's point, a high level of pump fake should be successful sometimes against CBs with high-level fake defending attributes/SAs, as one player's attributes/SAs shouldn't completely dominate another's when at similar levels. Personally, I'd prefer that the effect of a successful pump fake wasn't simply on/off (given how much an advantage it gives), but scaled relative to the various RNG rolls.

To be fair...the more deep coverage you have, generally the less effective pump fakes are...that one of the advantages of cover 2 and 3.

I wouldn't be completely opposed to a duration timer though...if you get a 55 compared to a 57 pump fake roll, you would freeze far shorter than if you rolled a 10 compared to a 57. That could already be the case, as it seems sometimes it is less severe, but I think Bort has said that is from higher agility.

Fake defending is very hit and miss.

I'm never 100% sure myself what my secondary will do, and many of ours don't have 6+ in Super Vision.

Personally, for purposes of working out vision, I always treat Super Vision as a piece of AE that grants:

+1% to Vision
-1% to fake.

This means the higher base stat you have in Vision, the more effective it works. Doubly so if the Fake % is based off your total vision attribute.

Unfortunately there's no way of knowing what the base fake chance is, or how much is granted by SA's such as Pump Fake. It clearly seems to be very effective for some QB's. With the prevalence of AE these days it's not entirely unlikely somebody already has 1 piece with +4 Pump Fake, and a second piece with +2 Pump Fake giving them a good chance of having over 10 in the skill.

I personally don't even know if a +% to fake chance piece of AE works for Pump Fake (or merely for head fake etc) but it's entire possible it does.

That works too.

I've not seen him for about 3 months, so I've not gotten any tidbits of info from him for ages.

I think it's a valid question. That and if Turn Shoulder is a fake - and so does the equipment work again there.

Is there any insight into what levels of a fake affect the amount of vision needed to avoid it? Is +1 Heafake = -10 vision for the opponent?

Also, Hooty hoo

After watching the replay, it is apparent that the CB is not in a contract year. He is just quitting on plays.
