Every zone I run where CB2 is covering the Under Strong Fifth, the CB runs towards the inside rather than dropping back in the zone...

A few examples:

I can come up with plenty more, but you get the idea.

I do also... but I'm testing out various zones to see how they work. Obviously, the other 4 guys drop into zone fine, just the last fifth doesn't go right. Hopefully, Bort can take a look at it and fix it in the sim.

That looks like Under Middle Strong Fifth.

Look at my under strong fifth for the LOLB....he goes flying outside like he's playing the flats. There's definitely something not right about it.

It appears the SS pulls the LOLB outside with him. SS is supposed to have flat and the LOLB has the inside in under 5th.

That looks like correct Under Strong Fifth behaviour, actually.

Interesting because that's not how the diagram shows it to be. He went to the flats with the SS. The SS was assigned the underneath flat zone. In the diagram, it shows the SS outside and the LOLB inside in a "hook" zone. Taking away the streaking TE.

Maybe the diagram is just incorrect?

Buer... I'm likely not going to use many zones in the regular season... I'm not a big zone fan, as you should know from all the games we've played against each other I'm just testing... and if it works that way the next two preseason games, there's no chance I'll use it.

mocfam10... the LOLB in your play moves toward the correct spot, at least. Mine runs towards the middle of the field instead of dropping back, as the CB on the other side does with Under Weak Fifth. Like on the last play I posted, our DEs both move back suddenly and quickly to their zones... which are the correct zones. Also, the flats are at and behind the line of scrimmage... he is moving back properly.

Thanks for the clarification guys. OP has a point. His CB is behaving incorrectly based on the responses above.

What depth are you setting the zone?

If you can give me screen shots of the exact defensive play and defensive AI inputs/outputs, I'll see if I can replicate it on the test server.

Just checked it out, and the under 5th zone was defined incorrectly. I've fixed it, but any plays that are using it and don't work properly will need to be loaded and re-saved to use the new definition. I need to write a script to reload all plays and resave them in case of something like this, but I haven't gotten to it yet, so if you want to update your plays before then, just load them and re-click save.
