Apologies if this has been adressed, but would it not make sense for anything but a speed-based DE to use bullrush? If you're going to engage the OT and stun him with agility, why not get it over with and take the more direct route to the QB. Seems the language in the rush style descriptions need to be updated (evsive..."use agility to try to get around blocker")

it has been asked (by me), but noone answered yet.

i guess noone knows for sure if it would work like that.

I played 3 games with 95 agility, 87 strength, 73 speed on bullrush.

First game looked promising: 2 sacks + 1 hurry against a level 59.

Next two games I was held to 1 hurry.

I just wish I could find the thread where Bort specifically stated that Break Through doesn't actually give any special bonus to breaking double teams, it just gives a bonus to breaking blocks and thus by extension also helps against double team blocks.

It gives a bonus to breaking both blocks simultaneously instead of one at a time, in the run game only. I am 100% sure of this.

Interesting, because I remember Bort saying something more along the lines of what Maddoc indicated. I am 100% sure there was something mentioned about breaking individual blocks, but I can't recall the exact context. The only reason I remember is that people were spazzing out because Break Through wasn't actually directly aiding in breaking double teams.

I didn't chime in, because I thought what Bort described was actually more useful on a play by play basis.

I actually looked back through a ton of old posts and still can't find it. It's probably one of those nuggets buried in a thread that isn't specific to Break Through.

Yeah, I went looking for it briefly, but had no luck.

No idea, but you're not the only one that noticed it.

Maybe someone in East bumfuck BBB was getting too many sacks so it had to be nerfed.

IF it was toned down, it must be because Bort realized that his stun 'solution' didn't fix the SIM at all. And a real fix + the stun code would result in more QB pressure than ever intended.

We'll see though...Waldo

And yet again it is proved that my litany of ideas regarding a person to organize shit Bort says so people actually know wtf is going would be endlessly useful.

You know, the one which offended and pissed off GLB staff.

I don't think it means you are going to plow through the blocks and come out the other side with a free shot on the QB. It is a runstuffing skill. Have you ever seen your DT get double or tiple teamed and he still makes a tackle. I think that is break thru. I just don't think break thru has a nice visually correlated dot movement to judge it by.

This is quite true. Break thru is not an actual "skill" per se. It's mainly just a bonus towards breaking the block when you're double teamed.

I think I finally found this post that I was thinking of buried in the Bugs forum. It was actually more clear than I remembered, but I guess I was thinking "the block" meant "a block", when it probably mean "the (double team) block". Plus the context of the thread was such that it muddied the issue a bit.

There was a post one page earlier saying "Bort himself has indicated (in this thread) that it doesn't work against double teams." I couldn't find that post, so I am not sure if that was copied and pasted from somewhere else or if was inferred somehow in an earlier Bort post.

Hey Tpaterniti, did you manage to find Bort's description on this?

Nice of him to slip the fact that it only works against the run in there. Wait....wat?

I'm pretty sure I saw a stun the other day. I'd guess yes. Plus, not in the changelog.
