Please check here for all your trading info!
For information that is not covered here, please ask in the FAQs thread.

Some rules managers/coaches should follow when posting about available players:

- Player name, or preferably a link.

- Player's rank and/or strengths. If you can, have the player "allow all to view" ratings.

- If you plan on trading inactives, which do have value, please say so in your original post.

- What does your team want in return? Please specify if you are open to any offer.

- If you want cash, please give a ballpark figure.

- When trade is completed, please post it on the thread. "DEAL DONE" is a good way.

Trade Suggestions for New Owners

If you trade, here are some things to be aware of and some suggestions. Ignore them at your own risk.

1.) Make sure the player is a human and not a CPU - Owners will post "LEVEL 8 CB" when in reality it is a CPU. Check and make sure.

2.) Make sure the player is active - Owners will offer up an inactive player and not tell you he is inactive. Click on the player's profile to find out when he last logged in.

3.) Make sure the player is willing to be traded - Believe me, nothing is worse than trading a player for $200,000 cash for that player to immediately PM you and say something to the effect of "I asked my owner for a release and the !@#$% traded me instead. Please release me." Boom! You just lost $200,000.

4.) Make sure the player is willing to fill the role you have for him - If you are trading for a starter but intend to make him a backup, he may not be too happy about being "demoted" in this way. Especially if his former owner promised him a starting spot, he may feel he has a legitimate grievance at not starting on your team. A demand for a release may be right around the corner. Check with the player to make sure.

5. Make sure the player's contract is not about to expire - Some owners are trading players (sometimes even their own) whose contract expires within the first week of the season. Once the contract expires the player has no intention of resigning and you just got taken.

Trust me when I say that owners can be VERY shady and unethical in their dealings. Just like in real football, owners rarely release or trade players who are happy, content, and successful. If they release or trade them there is usually a reason for it which you would be foolish to ignore. It is always a good idea to get in touch with the player to find out just what is going on before you make a trade. Otherwise you are likely to get BURNED!

Addendum:

Because several people have asked, this is what the trade-o-meter will allow in terms of cash for players. Is this what they are worth in an abstract sense? That is for you to decide. Here is the max amount of $ you can trade for players at various levels. The numbers are give or take about $5,000.

CPU Players

Level 1: 40,000 max
Level 2: 54,000 max
Level 3: 67,000 max
Level 4: 82,000 max
Level 5: 105,000 max
Level 6: 111,000 max
Level 7: 128,000 max
Level 8: 145,000 max

Human Players

Level 1: ??? max
Level 2: 80,000 max
Level 3: 105,000 max
Level 4: 130,000 max
Level 5: 154,000 max
Level 6: 170,000 max
Level 7: 195,000 max
Level 8: 213,000 max
Level 9: 235,000 max
Level 10: 256,000 max
Level 11: 275,000 max
Level 12: 311,000 max
Level 13: 322,000 max
Level 14: 350,000 max

When the trading freeze is lifted will CPU players be tradeable? What about CPU's above lvl 8? Now that they're requiring signing bonuses it's a little less appealing to sign a few CPU players "just in case".

How many players are allowed to be in a deal (and does that count money being sent one way)? Is there a limit on each side of the deal in terms of players? If so, can a bigger deal be split up into two smaller deals with the same owner?

3 players on each side of the trade is the limit.

What is the best way to go about being released if you cant get your owner to trade you? I have a bunch of friends who started up a team and I want to be on it, but my owner wont trade me because I am a starting lvl 16 WR. Any suggestions?

No, but anyone can make an offer to you even though you have a current contract with the CPU team.

So would you post in the trade form, or the Free Agent Forum?
