I've seen this question a few times, and here is the answer:

All teams who didn't make the playoffs, or who have been knocked out of them, will play scrimmage games on their regular schedule every 2 days.

These scrimmage games will be against the other conference's non playoff teams!

No tickets or concessions will be sold for them, though, so make the playoffs to make money! Stats will be collected for them but they are in a separate "scrimmage" category.

This means: Every team will play every 2 days, no matter their playoff status.

Does this mean that playoff games and scrimmages will award experience just like regular games? I only ask because I thought the rationale for not awarding experience for playoff games was that it would lead to the rich getting richer and all that. But if everyone is going to play 20 games each season then it would seem to make sense to have the post season games give experience.

We're thinking about it, since this does address that issue. We'll let you all know before end of the season for sure.

I dunno. I'd prefer no XP for playoffs and scrimmages

It definitely would change the planned player progression curve some.

This has been brought up through suggestion forum. How about a playoff among the non-playoff teams to see who gets delegated?

so there may be xp for scrimmages but no playoffs?

If you do allow exp during playoffs/scrimmage time, how about cutting it back 50% and cutting the play total from 50 to 25? This will allow owners to try different schemes and give backups more of a chance for exp. I would even like to start our backups in a game against starters 4-5 levels higher than they are just to see how they do.

I'm sure it would. It seems much easier just to leave it with no XP for all games post-season.

If everyone's playing (whether playoffs or not) I don't see the harm in awarding experience, since those who made the playoffs will still get the bonus of extra home game sales. However, if no one is to get experience then it's just the same in my book since the playoffs teams still see those revenues regardless.

Man, give us a break - literally. The grind of games is hard and a gap would be appreciated rather than having to gameplan meaningless games for XP.

It would definitely give us something to do. I think my team was knocked out in round 2 and then with the wait for the rest of the playoffs and offseason it was a really boring time...lotsa inactives.

Might want to look at scrimmage games for those that are knocked outta the playoffs to.
