I am not sure if I should suggest that this should not happen or if it should be in bugs because Bort really should have fixed this long ago. There are so many times and it happens in almost every game where a WR, TE, OL will engage 1 blocker and another defender will run into them and somehow the offensive player will then engage both guys. This should not be happening. The guy who runs into the other guy should just bounce off and run around, I really hate seeing a guy score on my defense because my LB or Safety gets double engaged when he might have been able to make the tackle. This seems like a bug that has gone unfixed for a long time.

EDIT: Also, this is a little different topic but guys engaged in a block should still be able to make an attempt at a tackle. It should just raise the chance they miss the tackles, guys IRL can still make tackles even when being blocked but when a guy in GLB is blocked even if he is literally right next to the dot with the ball, he won't then attempt a tackle which seems messed up to me. Perfect example:

Both MLB and SS should have been able to attempt a tackle or a diving tackle with a high chance of it being broken.(it would be like an arm tackle)

my biggest beef is when a lineman can instantly change his block to another defender just in time to keep the HB from getting tackled. that just doesn't happen in real life.

Players who are blocked or just coming off of a block actually do get a chance at the tackle, at a penalty. However, if they miss, they don't fall down as usual (so it doesn't report "missed tackle").

In other words, you'd have to look at the replays to really see it in effect?

Pretty much, though it's often not really all that "seeable" because the player doesn't react unless he gets pushed away or something.

that makes sense. I've often wondered why my NT doesn't get a tackle when the HB dot goes right over the top of him. I assumed he either didn't get a shot at a tackle because he was engaged, or he missed the tackle. but then I wondered why it wasn't reported as a miss. now I know.

while we are talking about blocking ... here is what really needs fixing
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=614051&pbp_id=9051136

the FB and the WR both block CBs on the outside on this play and the results of both blocks are almost identical (until the ball carrier is way gone at least)

WR STR/BLK combined attribute score = 17

FB STR/BLK combined attribute score = 160

why bother building STR/BLK at all ?

cause:
-most people dont think cb's need strength and tackling. number one reason elusives have had a field day this season imo.
-fb's also have to block lb's, and sometimes help out with OL. wr's only ever block cb's and the occasional safety.

The main problem isn't this, Bort. The main problem is that defenders should avoid double-block situations, especially when closing in on a play (it's hard to avoid when chasing a play).

Could be wrong, but from my experience, the more strength on the defenders, the more difficult it is for the blocker to block two people.

That too, vision should keep you from running into the people being blocked...but it seems that there is an automatic path they just take and if something happens to be blocking the path, they run into it. Which sounds a lot like evasive passrushing.

On a related note.. Bort have you been looking at the defensive lines some folks have been using to abuse the DPC? Insane pass rush from a three man front by stacking the DE's and NT right on the cetner and causing O-Line to act stupid.
