Now, when we put in outputs in the AI and update them, they come out jumbled from the order they were put in - my question is, if there's, say, 10 outputs each with a 10% chance, will the outputs at the top have a higher chance of being called? I've always assumed no, and I'd hate to have to go through a couple hours replays to try find out to make sure, so does anyone know or is there a Bortism somewhere that addresses this?

Hmmm...lets see.
10 inputs at 10% each = 100%
Since each input has a 10% chance, that means 1 out of 10 times it has a chance to be called.
So I guess that each one has an equal chance.
But like flipping a coin 10 times....you might not get 5 heads and 5 tails. But the more flips of the coin you do the closer the %'s will be to 50%.

Bort has not mentioned this that I am aware of. I have often wondered this as well. I always update AI changes 4 times after I finish setting it up, to get the bugs out. It has been very accurate for me with doing this. Before I started the 4 updates the AI would not always work as I wanted it too. With the 4 updates it works really well, and my percentages are dead on.

4 is enough.

Especially since the order changes from how you set it when you click Update...

well there's a few things in the game that make 'absolutely no sense' which is why I asked about this in the first place, after all the AI states -
# The playcalling engine will work its way down from the top to the bottom of your AI inputs until it finds a match.
# When the engine finds a match, it will make the defensive play call based on the outputs listed underneath that input.
seeing it works it's way down 'from top to bottom' , if it did this for the outputs as well wouldn't there be a slightly higher chance of the tops ones being called than the bottom ones even if the % chance was the same?

I think it is a perfectly reasonable question, and one that should get a definitive answer, rather than speculation. As others have stated, we do know the AI reads from the top down.

yes we all know that, but that's not what I'm asking.

Both of these.

No. In fact, the order of the outputs is shuffled each time they are looked at by the sim to make sure it's more random.
