Mentor
Other players sometimes make the best coaches. Each level of Mentor gives a +1% in-game bonus to vision and confidence for all lower-leveled teammates who play the same position and were created at least 1 season after this player, to the day, as long as this player is on the depth chart for the game. This ability stacks with other mentors on the team, up to a maximum of a 25% bonus per position.

So:
1) Does the mentor have to be at a specific position in the depth chart in order to provide the bonus?

2) Do the "mentees" need to be on a specific depth chart slot to receive the bonus?

3) Is the "one season after this player, to the day" measured by player age (eg, 359 days vs 319 days would qualify) or by creation date (eg Season 1 day 44 vs Season 2 day 42 would *not qualify*...even though ages are 319 and 359 respectively).

Hopefully we will get a direct answer from Bort...

Already a thread on this on the same page, newb http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=3071488

1 and 2 seem strongly to be "no". WWR only had one KR guy, and he clearly had the bonus. Additionally, if it worked that way, then CB1 would screw the CB3 guys. So would LOLB/ROLB.

My real question was #3...I am fairly sure you are correct about #1 and #2.

I just thought I would include those in this (far superior) thread

So 319 ->359 makes for a valid mentor? Thanks Bort!

What about this:

You have a season one QB that is declining, and you sign him with the express purpose of using him as a QB2 with 1/2 energy settings so he never sees the field, so in essence you have a 1 QB system. Obviously the owner of the mentor QB would never boost him, he wouldn't have to since he never plays, so he just declines and no one worries about it. What would stop someone from doing this for five, even ten seasons after the decline starts?

Obviously, that QB will be holding a lot of flex for the owner of the player, but hypothetically let's say the player owner has plenty of flex and isn't worried about it.

Please don't think things out. It makes GLB look bad.

What was it before?

It seems pretty damn rigged. +25% vision alone for DBs/LBs without them having to invest anything whatsoever is absolutely amazing.

Nerf number 1 was that it used to just need to be 3 levels higher, not a full season. Second one was a bug fix.
