Tbh with you. I kinda get the feeling, just a gut feeling I guess, that Bort is already considering returning to the days when agents could own more than one team. If for no other reason, because of the # of teams that go CPU and he has to reshuffle and all that jazz every season. But at the same time, I would think that's probably considering the right way to do it and the best way to make profit off of it. I think that multi-team ownership making its return, is almost inevitable.

I do too. Bort posted in this thread last season, and I saw he posted in another suggestion, so I thought I'd bump it and see if he'd say something. Was going to bump it anyway though........

Agreed... with so many teams being CPU or just complete failures, why not let experienced owners own multiple teams. Collusion could be strictly monitored, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Maybe there could be some sort of interview process to determine who is allowed to get a 2nd team?

The only restrictions I would like to see, would be a length of previous ownership for extra team eligibility. I guess you could charge extra if they were buying a team above AA, but how much you are willing to spend shouldn't be a limiting factor imo.

I should mention I posted about this in the PF the other day. Just a "hey, any word". No comment.

UGH!!!! This needs to happen before we end another season with massive guts/sell backs.

Thanks for the follow-up info.

I would think, think, that he's waiting on the end of the season to do anything with this.

I should also think the number of teams available vs the number of people on the waiting list would probably play a big deciding role

Sure, and if he is that's great.

However, the early rollers are going to start rolling for next season around day 24, and everyone else rolls on various days shortly after that leading up to day 41. If he does decide that, yes, he is going to open this up, the closer to day 40 the announcement is, the less teams he will actually see bought this offseason. A decision really needs to be made, and an announcement made by the trade deadline imo.

Pitch this to Bort just like it is if you would Potts.......

Bort puts up a 2nd Regular Team Waiting List. The 2nd team will cost 1500 for two seasons, and 600 per after that. There are no league preference tabs, you get what you get. (This happens after all CPU teams relegate to 14). The 2nd team has the same trading rules as owning a casual in that you can't trade cash.

You could perhaps have a yes or no check box asking if you'd be willing to take a AA team with five million in cash and a full stadium, or if you'd rather start in 14 capped. If you check yes to being willing to take a AA team, you may receive that team at any point during the preseason. If someone sells their team back after rooking the season tickets, one of these owners can step in and take this team with a full stadium and 5 million cash and the league doesn't have to suffer a CPU team all season. Any players on this team are auto released when the new owner comes in. You wouldn't have to ask 46 cap teams to step up and fill vacancies this way either. If they ask for promotion though, by all means promote them before handing out a new team.

Day 41 leagues realign, all CPU's drop
Day 41-44 support requests happen
Late day 44: First Team Regulars, Casual, Pee Wee handed out.
Day 45: Second Team Regulars handed out to fill vacancies left from the first group only. No new leagues need made to accommodate people on this list. If there isn't room in the leagues for people on the list than they have to wait until next season.
Day 45 until Day -8: Teams continue to be handed out to people on both lists as vacancies arise.

I just quoted this with really, 0 reading after I saw "pitch it to him like this". I then copied it and pasted it into the thread. I am now posting to confirm said point.

I should mention I personally do not care about (note the "about". not "for", just "about") this idea...I just kinda ended up as the go between on it. If it does go through, I'm gonna try my ass off to get someone else to take my team from me (since I bought it off an innactive, and most of the other GMs there already had their own teams).

Yourself, Hazy and the rest of you that are keeping Bort informed do a great job.

I would disagree with a lot in this idea as written, it misses one important part of allowing existing owners to buy a second team. We need to be able to purchase already established teams from owners before they lose them. If we are allowed to purchase already established teams, it also cuts down on the work the GLB staff has to do with the realignment by keep already sold teams in the mix. Also, we should be able to purchase as many teams we want, not just a 2nd team which is how I read this.

Purchasing a team that is going to be sold if you are a GM would be handled via a support request anyway. If Bort opens the door for a waiting list system it would surely open the door for a support request transfer as well.

As for owning more than two teams goes, you have to walk before you can run imo.

On a personal note, when I first started this thread I was wanting to buy a second team so I could do a team of all my own players, but since than a good friend of mine bought the team for me. He pays the flex for team ownership, and I run the team and own all 50 some players. At this point my second team would basically come from him transferring ownership to me via a support request, so I am right with you on wanting to transfer ownership lock, stock, and barrel. I likely would not be getting on the 2nd team waiting list, but it's existence should open the door for support requests to happen.

I am trying to get something together that Bort would agree to, and with any luck he would come in here, or have Potts come in here, and we could knock a few more ideas around before the trade deadline, and get it done with enough time to get this announced while people have time to make plans.
