Can we have some sort of "Flex Contest" for new trophy design. Have the users design new trophies. This way bort doesn't have to do it, and he can take advantage of a user base that is damn good at photoshop.

-Have a different looking trophy for each region and possibly each tier

If this went well we could then consider a MVP trophy redesign (by region) followed by individual trophies

+1, it sucks that tourney trophies look better than league championship trophies.

As an aside, I'd like to encourage GLB to KEEP the OLD trophies for past seasons the same--don't let the new winning design be retroactively added to trophy cases. Part of the charm of a trophy case is that each one looks slightly (or radically) different than the ones surrounding it. Heck, I'd even make the case that each season a new winning design should be chosen and used throughout GLB for THAT SEASON ONLY.
