I think you're exaggerating, however, I'll bite. After these so called fakes, I bet the defender still makes the play consistently.

No. Look, if you're arguing from the experience with your own HB then you just to need to wait. Fake backs take longer to flesh out than powerbacks, but they're just as deadly if not moreso once they reach their peak. Case in point: http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=36448

I'm arguing from more experience than you. Don't let the level of my HB fool you. I've had a HB at the Pro level before and he struggled. I had to turn him into more of combo back to get results.

Fake and Power backs working fine in my league. Granted the fake back on Tulsa is past his prime, he is still causing huge misses...and we've got a good back-up one in the making.

Just saying:

Sure, it's not like I'm a World League DC or anything who has to come up with ways to counter the best backs in the game. Good grief. Either show some respect or shut your mouth.

To be fair, the ridiculous curve on his ypc stats is more to do with sim changes than his build rounding out. But I do agree that fake backs take longer to round out than power backs.

Oh look, i made a chart.

True. Anyone who bitches about elusives now must not remember what it was like in S7 & S8. It's like people who whine about the modern economy being as bad as The Great Depression.

I'm confused. I see tons of replays where dots fall down or just pause in front of the running back, and there's often no missed tackle listed in the replay. Fakes work great already, some people just want them to go back to being unstoppable.

No, we want fakes to be a viable alternative to PB and combo at higher stages of the game.

There's like five HBs in the USA Pro West offensive MVP top 10. At least 3 appear to be classic elusive backs, 1 is definitely not, and I'm not sure about the fifth but he sure faked us out. They're gonna be pissed when they find out they aren't viable at that level, I bet.

I think so yeah. Was also when Dooley was introduced to his Dryden friends, and when bort decided to turn fakes back on.

I don't disagree with that... The biggest issue we are talking about is like this....
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=918488&pbp_id=12158071

It is far too common to find an Elusive Fake/Juke a defender, and he immediately bounces back up and makes the tackle.

Is it feasible in RL? Yes.

Is it a regular occurrence in RL? No.

Is it a regular occurrence in GLB? Yes.

That is the issue a lot of us Elusive builders have is that the current state of the Sim.... The Elusive back is pretty much handicapped.

I'm behind in the thread, but watching this replay, what strikes me is that when the LB gets faked, the HB doesn't veer outside to avoid him. Thus he runs right by him and is in range for the diving tackle. The OLB is much further away when he first shrinks than he is when he un-shrinks.

It's because while a defender is faked/pancaked, he doesn't register as a threat.

Which may be part of the problem. The back needs to view him as a threat, but not so much that he veers away from the defender -- maybe he registers him as a very low threat of something.

This might be the most sensible thing posted in this thread so far.
