I wouldn't see why the Defense with the DPC, wouldn't be able to run the same way it is now. It is just changing the pathing of the HB.

They can, but with all these other choices, the Defense could set the HB up for failure.

Nice, i have a elusive back with high agility and spin.
Once this gets done he'll be great but will have to retire cuz he's old...

Ehm, in this vector adding solution, the threat has to be adjusted to how close and how fast the defenders are moving, that is the trick to make the path adjustment be smooth instead of ping ponging.

And also, another issue here. I think there's only 3 necessary outcomes of the calculation:
a) head downfield if there's a chance to get more yards that way (aka adding the threat of the defender coming from the right and the defender coming from the left to our goal means the vector points to the positive Y direction, meaning goal line)
b) reverse field, if the vector adding points to the negative Y direction, meaning you most likely won't get that extra yards, meaning your goal won't have enough "importance" if you go this way, or like, you are not likely to get there
c) if one of the "defenders" is the sideline AND the HB needs to stop the clock(aka time saving due to no timeouts and low time on clock), head out of bounds.

The HB NEVER runs away from a defender, he just runs towards the endzone through the path of least resistance. He can still (and will still most often) be tackled, just not pingpong at all.

that is fine
