i was able to push butlers kicking to close to 160 yet found he struggled with touchbacks despite 15 in booming kick and 12 in big boot. so i cut butlers equip in half pushed strength to 95 and kicking to 130. if he does better on touchbacks and longer field goals im curious if the idea of moar kicking in equipment will go the way of the dinosaur.

if i could get the great pumas help i know he ran the tb percentage for last season and butler was like 18% so if puma can run it after the preseason will see the definitive results

Im no K expert, but isn't the main job of a K to make field goals? The more kicking you have the better your FG% will be. Strength<<<<< Kicking for FG%

I'm actually adjusting one of my kickers to have NMT 130 kicking just to see how he compares to the norm.
By only going to 130, I should be able to get 130 kicking, 100 confidence, 90 vision, and 90 strength.

He's got several more seasons before he gets there, but I've always wondered if 150 or 160 is just too much.

My high level K has over 160K and 79 strength and had over 50% TBs last season.

A couple of things here:

1. Grundle got worse at TBs when I moved eq from kicking to strength. This was from one season to another, so, an unannounced nerf could have played a part.
2. I have found a funny thing about pre-season and regular season especially with kickers. They don't seem to reflect right. I.e. pre-season performance seems to differ from regular season performance.

I'll run it for whatever you need, just PM me what you want to see.

Another thing I might mention is energy. We should compare all games and games where Butler did not have dozens of kickoffs.

I really do not know. I just know that especially when it comes to my kicker I don't trust pre-season performance as an indicator of anything...

I've had sucess with kickers, and not one of them had kicking over 135.

I've seen kickers at 120-130 with better FG % (esp. 50+) than kickers with 140+ because the 120-130 guys had 90s confidence and 80s vision.

I thought strength for kickers was nerfed a few seasons back to ebb the tide of rising kickers who made 50, and even 60+, FGs too often. In any case, 74 capping strength is usually enough. For FGs, 48 strength is enough to make the distance on 50 yders. But for TBs you do need more. However, I have yet to see a major difference in kickers from 70 strength to 80+ strength.

Kicking Fieldgoals is all about luck at the high levels of this game. You don't need 130+ kicking to kick anything < 50 yards, so misses less than 50 yards are generally luck. Grundle's got 100+ natural kicking AND confidence and 80+vision. He could have close to 160 kicking, however I decided to go strength on his last 10 eq instead of kicking. From what I've seen high vision (80+) really has little impact at the high levels of the game.

Kick Offs IMO, though, are:

1. Kicking
2. BB
3. Strength
4. everything else.
