I'm just curious... how many people on here keep the builds on their dots entirely closed, even to their team owners and teammates? Does it cause you any problems, like team owners benching or rotting your dots when they find out you won't open your build?

Teams I'm on know what kind of dots I build and don't ask questions

I don't think a team should be that serious, but seriously don't be a diva and not open your build because you think it's so damn good.

I think dots should be open to the OC and DC as well as the owner. the OC and DC for obvious reasons and the owner so he can replace the dot if it needs to be replaced.

I just assume they're crappy but wouldn't bench them or any shit. not being able to see what you actually have to work with makes life a bit harder but by mid season you can pretty much tell what the dot can and can't do so meh.

Keeping builds closed is bad, being inactive is worse.

Having one's build closed to the team is very selfish imo. Personally I have never had this issue on my team, but if I did I wouldn't bench them. Those guys spend real money to play just like I do. It's doubtful I would renew their contract however..

So if a 2x World League MVP had his build closed to the team you wouldn't renew his contract?

Do people sign dots with out ever seeing the builds? As long as the owner/recruiter/coordinators have seen it was good enough to sign i dont' see the problem if they want to keep it closed.

As a team owner, if your build is closed and I don't know you, I don't recruit you.

If I do know you, then I'll usually just ask for the general gist of what you're doing with the dot (just to the extent necessary for me to figure out how to use him), but I won't ask you to open him up.

Has anyone ever been benched and rotted because they wouldn't open their build? I'm curious to know how often that happens.
