Whatever happened to Valhalla. Your list says 3 straight WL titles and they aren't around now did the owner run out of flex?

Idk, I would still give the edge to Valhalla, just because they were head and shoulders above pretty much everyone. There were only a couple teams that could contend with Valhalla.

No doubt HHWC's three were more impressive in terms of stringing the wins together (I think even ufshowboat will admit he didn't expect to do it), though.

Question is, was Valhalla really that good, or was there just not nearly as many good teams as now. I think the competition is getting better now. I think Valhalla would find it much harder these days than in their time...HOWEVER, I take nothing from w_alloys ability to win, so think maybe he would have found the next big thing already and would still be winning more than the others...

You have to hand it to alloy, that team was like the 49ers of the '80s. Sure, the '00s Patriots would wipe the floor with the smaller, slower '80s Niners, but the Niners and Valhalla were the first teams to really perfect the unstoppable passing offense that became the staple of the game, and both were underrated on defense.

Of course the competition is better now. But I do think going 59-1 with 3 ships from seasons 13-15 was more impressive than going 53-7 with 3 ships from seasons 17-19. Valhalla proved they could win the close ones in season 13 and by the end they were so good they didn't have a single close game in all of season 15.

WL is more competitive because of people like alloy opening his builds and showing the masses what to strive for. Also Rage Kinard constantly telling the slow people who could never build what to do. It took until these most recent seasons for the majority of GLB to catch up.

Extending the plateau played a big role in making the WL more competitive as well.

I would strongly argue that Valhalla would have found WL more challenging and probably lost a few more games had there been an extended plateau during their peak.

Of course I'd admit we didn't expect to win three. You should see the WL championship game threads in the HHWC forum. We were just happy to compete and then win that first one and it was just a blast through uncharted waters. Getting the next 2 were like we were riding this wave and we didn't know when it was going to stop. I think in all 3 three seasons we won, there were other teams that were good enough to win. We just had the right plan at the right time and the right dots to go on an amazing run.

I love this debatte. Of course because we're in the discussion for G.O.A.T., but moreso because you really have 2 different types of great when it comes to best in WL history..... I've though this for a while and I still believe it....

Valhalla is the most dominant team in WL history. Alloy was ahead of the curve and one of the greatest minds to play this game. That team was just unreal and so much better than everybody else. The only thing against them is they only did it for a few seasons.

HHWC has the longevity as a franchise as shown by the most WL wins to go with the 3 championships. We came in when WL started and right away won a ton of games and competed against Hali for that 1st championship. We've had some freak builds in the WL for every single season but one. I still feel like we have another run in us to get a 4th ring... but there are a bunch of teams that are good enough to win this whole shit each year now. So the longevity piece means a great deal to me.

he had the secret to the stack, so had the advantage over everyone. HHWC had more equal comp. HHWC rings
