Whn I retrid my level 60 WR he had 60+ strenght. I htink last season he had less then 20 case of "knocked loose"

Some tend to gorget what a great atrribute strenght can be for WR

I have seen 105-110 speed WR's with 60+ strenght do a lot better then a 120+ speed WR
But jmo.

The other thing to remember is that this is a % increase. You're still going to need high base attributes in order to take advantage of the % uplift.

That has never happened before!

The whole game is flawed - which VA was responsible though?

Ball Hawk for instance meant it was near impossible for him to be "open" which meant the LB's were always close enough to have a shot at deflecting the ball.

Zone Coverage did the same.

Long Reach granted a re-roll of the Pass Deflection roll.

3rd Down Stopper gave a pretty epic boost to stopping 3rd down passes (if everyone on a defence took it then you're looking at an across the board near doubling of your effectiveness to stop key passes).

Effectively the defence got 4 VA's vs Tightends that would all contribute to deflecting the ball (nevermind Jackhammer and other hard hitting morale killers that all contribute too).

I pointed this out 3 seasons ago, and ignored.

You can prevent balls from getting knocked out..as long as you are willing to sacrifice your ability to get open

29 catches in 1 year isn't exactly stellar

We spread the stats between six similarly built WRs (the worst of which had like 4 drops this past season), 2-3 HBs, an FB, and two TEs. I figure, all these guys are paying money, so I'll find a way to make an offense that can use them all well instead of focusing on a couple of players.

Basically, stuff is really spread out on the team. We typically have between 20-30 completions and 30-40 attempts a game. While I'll admit that we do run a bit of an unconventional offense...we also are producing results in regards to caught v drops. So we've got to be doing something right.

yeah, the one thing that kills me with the WR is the price. should be 200, but wtvr.

Cassius Clay has been great for the game, imo. When no one was using confidence, he was using it. Then he went to strength/carry. he at least demonstrated you don't have to just be about speed.

About 3 seasons ago, I'm pretty sure everyone would have lol'd at my build for Catcher, but that's when he had his best season (and the best personnel and coordinator around him, I might add). Nowadays I see a lot of builds in that same direction. People figured out that you don't have to be all 110 speed to succeed.

not that my WR is a huge success, but I built him to be a slot receiver and he's generally been reliable as one, and that's what I was always going for so I'm content. Still pisses me off I have 10 in kicking and punting though. Damn n00b.

Around 20 with 60+ strength? That's pretty bad!

Well, I'm going to guess MOST LB's don't have most of these VAs. Makes little sense to have them imo. Perhaps Ball Hawk.
Now safeties? much different story - and typically if you are a legitimate passing threat as a TE, you get dedicated coverage from either a coverage built SS, or a CB.

I agree, most don't have the top 4. But coverage LB's may, and SS's almost certainly do have a combination. Ball Hawks boost alone (30% to pretty much everything to do with coverage) is enough to throw everything else into doubt. However many more do have Morale killers or energy sapping skills. The mere presence of an MLB with the Intimidation VA, or the use of Helmet Crash a few times can have an unknown effect.

If you're dropping the ball or having it knocked loose Confidence and Stamina probably play their part also.

I'm not sure we should underestimate high levels of 'clutch' either - as far as how they can contribute to this. I've actually found clutch + third down stopper + ball hawk to be a very effective combo for pass defenders.

I don't underestimate clutch, I just have no idea what the hell it does

I think the better question is what it doesn't or couldn't influence on a given play. I ahve some suppositions on what it influences of course as a DC, but obviously no fact.

Something else lost in all this. Let's assume for a moment that this new VA eliminates 80% of all knocked loose drops. Lovely. Right?
Oh yeah, and Bort just responded to one stealth nerf by giving receivers an overt nerf.

"Here guys, you can catch and hold onto passes again. BTW that will cost you one of your four VAs. Enjoy!"

It shouldn't do, but I have no idea if people that were typing out posts lose them when they ty to post them in a "dead end".

Like anything around here; with one hand you give with the other you take away.

Yes on both.

What about strength?
