I think there's no shortage of folks that have volunteered to offer up designs--a contest with several winners (for the various leagues) would be a feel-good story all around.

Can´t hurt, although certain people´s behaviour during the flex contest to make user guides has probably reduced the likelihood of this happening.

South America: Could be the Inca Bowl, or Mayan Bowl. I don't know enough about south American culture to know something that would unite the entire continent. To me, Sombrero bowl is cheesy and reminds me of Mexico, which is not in South America, but rather Central America. I think it should be more "serious", more "honorary" as opposed to 'lolsombrero'
South East Asia: Basically, the only thing that comes to my mind here would be a dragon trophy. The old, snake-like dragons of asian folk lore. Either that, or the "Emperor's Bowl" There are a lot of dragon statue images here that would work wonderful - http://images.google.com/images?q=asian+dragon+statue&btnG=Search&hl=en&um=1&sa=2&start=0 . The "Super Wok" is again, too jokey. The trophy looked great, but seemed to be more of a joke about asian culture than anything. IDK what to call it, though, but I do like the dragon trophy. Imperial Bowl has a nice ring to it.
Western Europe: Again, I'm in a tough spot here since I know very little about Western Europe culture or history. Western Europe consists of Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Norway, Netherlands, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden. Switzerland, and United Kingdom. So, many countries. Only thing I can really think of that ties these countries together would be that I'm sure many of them were one time under the rule of a monarchy? I'm not sure, but the King's Bowl works, and could simply have a crown: http://shopstampafe.com/images/T/Kings-Crown.gif on a "stand", I'm not sure. It could be too similar to the Imperial Bowl? Royal Bowl? Sounds too much like Royal Ball, doesn't it? Idk, it's tough
Eastern Europe: To me, a shot glass is cheesy. Yes, Eastern Europe is known for vodka and the likes. However, we shouldn't endorse booze one here, especially since GLB is trying to be "youth friendly". This one, to me, is the toughest and I'm drawing a blank. Originally, I thought of using a castle as the trophy, but that might be too detailed or tough to map out. Then, what would we call it? We could still call it the Iron Curtain Bowl, and put a hammer and sickle, but would that be stereo typical? I just don't know.
Canada Pro: The Mountie Bowl is nice, and I think an image of a Mountie on a horse would be a nice trophy. Maybe with a Canadian flag? Heres a flagless image: http://www.mountiecollectables.com/mounties/redserge.jpg
Africa Pro: Kingdom Bowl is pretty generic and I don't know if it really represents Africa much, unless you're referring to the Lion's Kingdom, which is kind of cheesy. Africa is sometimes called the "cradle of civilization", so could we use that? Cradle Bowl sounds pretty lame. I am truly at a loss for names, though
Oceania: The "obvious" answer would be the "Down Under Bowl", but that's weak. Oceania isn't just Australia, either. It includes a number of countries and territories: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oceania#Territories_and_regions so "down under" would be horrible. This is the ONE region where I'm truly stumped on both a trophy and a name. The Reef Bowl? Leaves too much room for drug jokes, IMO. I just don't know.
