Because it will be impossible to answer questions if we let the thread run in a normal manner we will be following the following procedures for this discussion:

We'll allow posting until there are three to five questions to answer then the thread will be locked. Once the thread is locked, the Admin team will go through and respond to the questions. Once the questions have been answered, the thread will reopen for discussion. This process will continue for the remainder of the discussion.

After two hours, the Q & A session will end but the thread will remain open for thirty minutes for general GLB conversation. At the end of the two and a half hour period the thread will be locked to be archived. Catch22 will go through the thread and pull the relevant questions and answers and add them to the locked/stickied Q & A Answers thread.

Rules for the Discussion

1) Keep it on topic for the two hour discussion period. It should be in reference to or related to the questions and answers posted in this thread: http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=3674579 or something.

2) All normal forum rules apply. The moderators will be assisting us and we will be extra strict with trolling and spamming. Consider yourself forewarned.

3) Once the general conversation period starts, questions might not be answered but there is no promise that they will be. This is time for the Admins and GLB to have a little fun.

The discussion will start at approximately 6 p.m. Pacific time and the thread will be closed at 8:30 p.m. Pacific time.

Way too problematic, would not be able to keep up with everything. It would also be difficult to record the dialogue.

Could the chat be used as the discussion place?

Of course at this rate, maybe we were overestimating things.

Since no one's posting I'll start with a softball...

One area of the game that's still pretty vague but extremely important is the anti-PD roll. The uncertainty about this aspect of the game has a lot to do with why there are so many speed builds.

Could you give us an idea what skills affect this roll for receivers, and ideally the hierarchy of those skills. If some of these skills are covered under Ball Hawk, would that VA's bonuses be active during the roll? Do SA's such as Sticky hands affect the roll?

Theres something called moderator mode, you allow what the community sees. You pick the question, you post your reply.

There is no way for the community to know if certain VA's are firing such as Mentor, Streaky and Long Reach just to name a few. There are even some rumors that they aren't working. What kind of testing has been done on these and how can the user community be sure that these VA's are indeed firing?

5. What needs to happen for you to decide that Beta is finished?

When I feel like there is no longer large updates needed, and we are ready to let the userbase know they can expect only small updates. There are so many potential additions and ideas, that may be a while.

15. What are the short term (1-3 years) and long term (3 years+) goals for GLB?

Continue to work on the football simulation engine, Add more features/depth to GLB, Improve Look and Feel, Add Baseball to our lineup. Those are some of the general goals we have.

Pretty much. Getting a development team together for a baseball offering, and getting that project up and running. is one of our major goals of the next 6 mos-yr, along with nailing down some of the missing components from GLB.

Sure you want to run two betas at once? I'd think finish one before starting the other...or at least be able to expand the staff enough so that it doesn't siphon needed energy away from completing this game.

What exactly goes into tackles and forced fumbles? Attribute and mechanic wise.

The unofficial GLB Draft is very successful and adds yet another lifelike element to the game. It is ran well and hundreds have alot of fun participating in this. Why can't it be OFFICIALLY recognized and promoted? At the very least why can't the staff that run it be recognized for their efforts to make GLB even more fun?

Bort has tested these extensively on his development server and has stated that there is no doubt that they are working. The VA's themselves have not been increment tested because testers are not allowed to do that testing. However, with my hiring, we'll (meaning me) probably be working on testing ones that are showing inconsistencies.

I'm going to have to let Bort answer that one as he knows much more about the mechanics than I do. He's not here at this moment so I'll try and bring it back to the forefront when he is.
