I will have to consolidate the amount of teams I am on anyway due to Monkeyman being done with the Monkeys over all this so I will have the time. I do spend all day on here, I usually just stick to all my team team boards.

This is not something I have ever considered doing, but South America was a pretty special place to play. I would like to help restore it to it's former glory, and I think having a mod in South America that the players know isn't biased against them (whether it's real or imagined) could go a long way to settling things down.

Just an idea, and I will totally understand if this is not cool with you as it is pretty random.

Good suggestions, will think about it.

Something people need to understand is that we can't just make snap decisions on everything and "fix it" in less than a day. DD and I talked on the phone earlier today about ideas, and things are being discussed on the mod forum.

This was my suggestion yesterday and it got locked.

seems as if Bort is going to do something about the "Don't let the Door hit you" message, but nothing can be done about the sender if we (Satchmo or Bort) cant find that message.

Something, however, can be done about actions of Mods or Admins that we can substantiate with PM or thread proof. I think that is the end-game at this point and would put this all to rest. I'm not one to speak on what that "Something" is that would be done to the Mod(s) in question

Yes im not saying most of the players didnt out out of hand.. but some shouls not have been banner.. what ended it for me was Juggalo not being banned for making the same exact thread Crippler made.. just because he was supporting TH in the threads.. and tim harpers excuse was that juggalo sent him a messege first.. but both got locked and only one person got banned?

I'm stunned reading through this. There's a major problem if this situation can get to this point. I know Bort keeps looking for the message, but I have to wonder how we could ever get here?

Misunderstandings, emotions, general forum lockdown mode. I know Jed posted in here about "longer bans" or something of the sort earlier today.

I agree it ended up with some long time posters getting banned, but we don't look at how much you spent when dealing with suspensions, etc.

Can't change the past - just gotta look to the present and future.

Terrible way to look at things Bort. With all do respect, you have to look at the past because if you don't history will repeat itself again and again and again.

This is a TERRIBLE way to handle it.

Looks like lots of stuff got locked yesterday. That's pretty much how it goes in "lock-down" mode...hence the name.

Giving people some time to cool down is generally a better way to get real suggestions rather than unhelpful rants.

I do understand that. As I said, I spend my life working with companies on strategy. I've had and sold my own. The problem is you never get your "top 1%" pissed like this. It's unacceptable.

Satch gives to the rest of us. I play this game, loved this game, give to my players, but no one else. He's touched us. To have him get close to this position is not a misunderstanding. It never should have gotten this close. It shows a major flaw in the structure of communication and governance of the boards. This never should have been able to be a miscommunication.

BTW -- if this board is at all edited, then we'll have to find another method to communicate. I have made a copy of contents so far.

Scientist also suggested each region have their own mod representing that region to avoid the USAPRO bias (real or imagined) and it was locked becuase it was thought to be a biased post.

I'd also throw my name out there as a SA mod or put out Dwetzel.

You leading the charge would not result in me making you a MOD if it were my company

I think MODS need to be guys who can control any situation... This is not a knock on you, because my temperament doesn't allow me to be able to do this all the time as well...

You are talking about a long term solution. You have to think damage control. Unban everyone and forbid the mods from doing ANYTHING in SA unless its an extreme situation (blatant racism, spamming, etc.) and let it cool down and restore to normal. Let the Kai-crap come back and the Kai-haters come back to life too. Then it will be like normal and only THEN can you think about a long term solution and compromises.

This seems to me to be another situation you've mishandled, another one being the Dong-Gate scandal.

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!! If you have any business skills Bort, you apologize to the customer, reprimand the Mod (even if you don't think he necessarily did anything wrong) and give the customer something extra for his time and energy he spent on this.

Satch has spent 100s to 1000s of hours on this game. Unlike many, he's not just helping himself (and I know there are the ask TH threads, but how many people has that touched). He's done scouting, setup the spreadsheets, etc.

As someone who consults to C-level executives, we'd ask how your top customer could even get to this point. If he's not the top, how many more do you have that have influenced the game like Satch.

To have something get to this point is unbelievable, and I also think those of us who care about Satch should make sure all of those Satch has touched know about it. If we can't do it on GLB forums, there are many others. I just worry if we sit around and just say goodbye, we're not much better than those who pushed him out (or led him to this point).

I couldn't put it any better myself. I will not stand idly by and watch Satchmo leave this game. If he decides that he has been wronged enough to walk away, then I will walk away with him.

I echo texaninma's question, how did it ever get to this point?

If paul is quitting then there is no doubt the Orange blood nation knows about this and this could cost GLB alot of profits. We have alot of teams that are OBs. And this move definately upset the nation. We could see alot of disbanded team coming upon us. Once again thanks Tim your the best.

He ruined it for me.. If you cant beat a mods team.. with out Sorry Excuses and it ends in this?

Why i will no longer own a team. Mods should not own team and be mods if there team comes before there job

Bort, what are you planning to do about Tim? After reading everything going on he is basically the one who has caused the most trouble. It is really troubling that a mod could go overboard and treat people like this.

Also something needs to be done to keep satch from leaving the game. He has helped so many teams and continues to do so and without that you will eventually force more people from this game you created.

Bottom line is that TH was just as much if not more responsible for things escalating and Bort is totally avoiding that topic here... That is the biggest thing in question with what happened over the weekend... Moderators should be held to a HIGHER standard then your average GLB participant because they are in a position of authority. That position comes with responsibility and accountability, not a Badge to do whatever you want.
