I'm stunned reading through this. There's a major problem if this situation can get to this point. I know Bort keeps looking for the message, but I have to wonder how we could ever get here?

Satch has spent 100s to 1000s of hours on this game. Unlike many, he's not just helping himself (and I know there are the ask TH threads, but how many people has that touched). He's done scouting, setup the spreadsheets, etc.

As someone who consults to C-level executives, we'd ask how your top customer could even get to this point. If he's not the top, how many more do you have that have influenced the game like Satch.

To have something get to this point is unbelievable, and I also think those of us who care about Satch should make sure all of those Satch has touched know about it. If we can't do it on GLB forums, there are many others. I just worry if we sit around and just say goodbye, we're not much better than those who pushed him out (or led him to this point).

I don't know if it's word for word, but that was it. "Don't let the door hit you on the way out." It was then I made the decision I was done. The mod's last response just solidified it.


And yes, Bort is correct in that the message in question was not from the mod that dealt with this. I guess it's possible it was from a different mod and not support, but I hadn't contacted anyone else about the issue except the original mod, a mod that is a good friend and support. When I received the blue PM from someone new I may have assumed it to be support, but I don't believe that to be the case.

This is ridiculous, Bort, and if you can't see that then maybe you aren't as mature and as savvy as I would like to believe you actually are. REPRIMAND your mods. In the business world if a manager tells a customer off, for doing something that is just as much the managers fault, then they get bit in the ass for it.

Why shouldn't the same happen to Tim Harper???? Personally I don't know the guy, but seriously? The complaints have been racking up against him for weeks, and this is just one more example of TERRIBLE business skills.

Anyways, Im not one to hide behind my keyboard and say this. I will speak up and tell you who I am and what I am about.

I don't think the big question is the PM. I think its the way TH handled the forums like he seems to handle everything... Just like the Jesus thing earlier with his avatar. This guy is not a person that I would have moderating a business for me.. I would value my customers and try my best to put people in place that would handle things with an un-biased opinion.

Many people deserve bans everyday, but TH took things way too far. Policing every thread in SA looking for something to come down on. I still didn't get an answer why TH was moderating the SA forums after he was clearly emotionally involved...

Misunderstandings, emotions, general forum lockdown mode. I know Jed posted in here about "longer bans" or something of the sort earlier today.

I agree it ended up with some long time posters getting banned, but we don't look at how much you spent when dealing with suspensions, etc.

Can't change the past - just gotta look to the present and future.

And if you ever decide to go with more mods for specific regions I would gladly throw my name into the hat for South America. I have taken the Monkeys through 3 levels of competition here and like to think I am respected here (which I think South America needs at this point)

I will have to consolidate the amount of teams I am on anyway due to Monkeyman being done with the Monkeys over all this so I will have the time. I do spend all day on here, I usually just stick to all my team team boards.

This is not something I have ever considered doing, but South America was a pretty special place to play. I would like to help restore it to it's former glory, and I think having a mod in South America that the players know isn't biased against them (whether it's real or imagined) could go a long way to settling things down.

Just an idea, and I will totally understand if this is not cool with you as it is pretty random.

I couldn't put it any better myself. I will not stand idly by and watch Satchmo leave this game. If he decides that he has been wronged enough to walk away, then I will walk away with him.

Good suggestions, will think about it.

Something people need to understand is that we can't just make snap decisions on everything and "fix it" in less than a day. DD and I talked on the phone earlier today about ideas, and things are being discussed on the mod forum.

If I were management I would do some kind of peace offering understanding things got out of control on both sides and lift the bans on these long time players. Management should take some responsibility for the way TH conducted himself on these boards.
