Bort exploits are starting to spread like wildfire on the defensive line just like Islam of season 8.

How about a proactive fix now prior to it running rampant in the playoffs giving us another * season.

Give us shift strong, shirt weak or center. Otherwise fix the offensive line blocking code to handle more dynamic situations like we are seeing.

+1, to eliminating exploits AND fixing OL blocking.

FYP, but a nice +2!

I.e., to scale back a game mechanic.

"nerf" (v, trans) the action of developers reducing the strength of an in-game asset where the asset is too powerful and unbalances other parts of the game. Arose when swords in UO were rebalanced and the characters felt they were hitting each other with nerf swords"

I.e., to scale back a game mechanic.

Please provide your definition. Be sure to include another retarded analogy while you're at it.

Jesus fucking Christ. Are you kidding me? You're wasting my time with this stupidity. If you can get more than two brain cells to function at the same time, compare what you just posted with what I said here:

Just because you insist on using a certain word doesn't mean that you're using it properly. And no, fixing something Bort created but didn't intend would not be a nerf. DEs got nerfed after S6 when Bort decided that they were too dominant. Not that something he did made them too dominant, but they were too dominant in general. Elusives also got nerfed because Bort felt like there were too many outside runs going the distance. Not that something he did made them too effective and needed to be corrected, but that they were working too well and put the game out of balance. Those things are "nerfs."

I have been exceedingly patient with you, but that's over. You have exhausted my good will and I am fed up with your belligerent ignorance. Do yourself a huge favor and shut the fuck up before you make this any worse.

So you agree I'm right that this would be a nerf. Otherwise, you're just posting things that support me while asserting they don't.

So basically: everything that makes anything working even a bit less than it was before is a nerf.

That leaves "fix" for only 2 options:
- changing something - but without making anything work a bit less
- making something more powerful

Even if a certain VA combination would make a HB teleports to the endzone, by definition correcting that would be a nerf (making it less powerful). Most would consider that a fix though.

It's not my definition. It's the definition. It's what nerf is in the gaming community.

A nerf can be a fix. So can a buff. So can a sideways adjustment (though those are the rarest).

if the fix is making the OAI react better to the formation so the tackles engage a little better, fine. If it is anything else he should leave it the hell alone.

Had a team pinch their DLine for basically the entire game against one of my teams today. They got 3 sacks. My team got 7. Don't fuck up the OLine/DLine interaction again Bort.

+1

I could maybe see making the LOT engage better. Maybe.

Fact remains that when the LG gets a block in, the DE's done in the play.

Has anyone brought up the fact if the linemen were built a little better and forget the pancakes maybe they can block a little better. The logical thing would be combat the speed agility guys with some speed and agility of there own. People always want to compare this game to the nfl even though it should never come down to that so here is an example for those that do this can relate. When you think of the great tackles what made them great? Little hint they were quick on there feet rarely giving up a sack doing it 1 on 1 99.9 percent of the time with enough strength to run block yet rarely record a pancake.

As far as I can tell, everyone's making fun of you for pretending that any change to the sim that lessens something is a nerf. And because you're a petulant child, you're pretending like my post supports your assertion instead of it being an example of numerous attempts various people have made to explain the difference between a nerf and other types of changes. Once again, a nerf is when someone in charge says that a particular position or type of play is too strong, and they try to make it weaker. Making a correction to something that was changed and had unintended consequences is absolutely not a nerf. If Bort accidentally caused running backs to become untackleable due to changing something in the programming, then made defenders able to tackle them again, that wouldn't be a nerf, it would be a correction. Now just shut up and stop embarrassing yourself.

It's been brought up and disproven. This has happened to some very high quality guards with outstanding blocking and agility. It has very little to do with that, since any build can lose the initial blocking roll.

Pretty much, but it still doesn't fix the pathing issue.

I can't really say one way or the other, because I've not seen anyone attempt this exploit against my LOT this season.

I'm in the "don't throw the baby out with the bathwater" crowd - fix the pathing so the linemen can still block the guy who's shifted a few inches to the inside when no one else is around.

As a humorous aside:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=602695&pbp_id=14254117

The teleporting is still happening - only it didn't do this guy a hell of a lot of good. He TV/SB'ed through my LOT and was moving so fast when he blew by him that he couldn't recover fast enough to get to the QB.

this...it really does not matter how the Guard or Tackle is built...if you lock in a certain build it will completely paralyze an offense
