I'd say that playing at 10,000 is highly unlikely, because they'd be moving SO SLOWWWWWWWWWW

But yeah, something like that, but not to that extreme extent

So does this mean that EQ will have gone to waste and won't make my player faster at some point? If so can we at least know what point we hit diminishing or no returns?

And, does this mean people who have built to extremes (ie: on slow builds) are fucked?

No it won't, I was simply responding to the testing methods you said you've attempted

Meaning that test is invalid

I have updated MTU's, database settings, timeout settings, etc. It only happens with certain servers accessing certain tables, while other servers (such as the web servers) accessing the tables have no problems whatsoever. I have even swapped out hardware and switches on the machines having problems.

Can't comment on that since I don't know the architecture behind the game.

Why don't you upload the code in a .zip file to the web server and execute it locally instead of trying to force it over the internet?

When we do database rebuilds we put the DB on a firewire drive and hang it off a server.

I love it when you talk like that.

So, say, will a 110 speed 95 agility be worse than a 110 speed 75 agility wr if the 110/75 is the better ratio?

So I am wondering....you said you put a "cap" and a "floor" on the randomness of the height/weight.

Does that mean that these will still be variable, within this range, from the numbers listed on the players' profiles or that they will be static and player will go into each game with an expected height and weight from the profile page?

So that's why my WR sucked.

Okay, that's what I thought.

Interesting...

Thank you.

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll tootsie pop?

..the world may never know.

That's how I read it...and there may be some DTs playing at 3400 lbs which might be why they can the LG 2 out of 3 plays....

Depends on what you count as a lick...

It's supposed to be the expected weight but if a bug occurs, it's a safety net.

Yes, a theory which was shot down by the creator of the game, and is based off of inaccurate replays and scripts holds SO much weight. Bort came out here and said that somethings is probably messing up the calculations...

I applaud your efforts to work on this, and there's no doubt that by exposing this flaw, you've done a lot of good for the game, and I'm certain the problem will be fixed, almost solely due to your investigative work.

I also understand that you're pissed that your one WR who is putting up extremely good numbers will, most likely, not perform as well. That's to be expected. But think of all of your players that may be buffed, or helped when this problem is sorted out. I know you're bitter because your WR is basically getting nerfed, but you have to look at it from more than one point of view here, and realize that one player's loss maybe a thousand players' gains.

I don't care about my WR. I haven't cared about my players on this game for a long time. I'll end up retiring him at the end of the season anyway. Not like I haven't retired 15 others because of this exact problem. I'm sure I'll be getting a flex refund for that too.

I'll have a lot of players get buffed since i have some of the best builds out there on a handful of players that just don't perform, this is great.

I'm worried about my team. I've put a shit ton of time and energy into recruiting players. I've had to cut great agents with players that had incredible builds and bring in guys that had lesser builds but played better. I felt horrible doing this but I've promised the agents on the team that I would always do my best to field a competitive team. Now my team is getting borted in the middle of the season the night before we play the one team in front of us in the division tomorrow. Plus the team is reaching it's peak and a lot of the guys that have got us this far wont be able to compete in WL if we don't get there this season.

We are talking about guys like this.
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=65515
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=167909
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=428129
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=348079

That is our top 3 leading receivers, our 2nd leading rusher and a guy that has won a DMVP the last two seasons and is in the running this season from the NT spot.

All about to get nerfed. It is too late in the season to bring in other players because of chemistry. So basically my team is fucked because the evidence has been ignored for more than a month.

It is funny, if you had any background on this discussion, and knew we were comparing exact speed on 1st play of the game streak plays, you would clearly know we will only provide Concrete evidence. To quote a guy who has been trolling these threads for 48 hr's despite concrete evidence is asinine. Trust me when I say, had Bort not been presented with indisputable evidence, and the entire community who has followed this thread been in a complete uproar, he would have never commented on such ("Clown" accusations). The fact is we have proven there is something wrong, and we will be able to come to absolute certainty due to the speed script whether any/all wr's receive a buff/nerf. Other positions won't be as easy, but I am sure we will be able to tell if JJ is still JJ. Etc..

.

And I think it's both sad and hilarious how some people are acting right now. Pierre has been going on about this for a long time now, and up until now it had always been met with by mods/Bort/know it alls/etc by just brushing it off and trying to blame it on whatever random excuse they could that was convenient or less complicated. More and more tangible, pretty irrefutable proof kept being presented, and it's met with laughter over relying on some dumb speed script, and other pretty ignorant takes.

And now, after all this time and right smack dab in the middle of the season, Bort finally acknowledges that there was a problem and without announcement just nerfs the hell out of this even though he's not exactly 100% sure that he's fixing it, he just knows there's an obvious problem he can't ignore any longer and he's going to do what he can to eliminate that.

So after PT re-opens up his wideout Slow Aschit's build, a guy who would have easily been one of the best players in GLB for the next few seasons, spends months of time diagnosing the problem, scouring game logs and through speed script data collecting evidence and presenting it in here and to the mods and getting nothing but a cold shoulder in return, after pretty much changing how he recruits and altering the makeup of his team by looking for these "x factor" type players that Bort and the mods claimed were just eating at Taco Bell and there was nothing to this problem, and getting his team which he's owned since GLB started well over a year ago back into Pro and in a position to possibly win a USA Pro title...

After ALL of this, probably getting his top wideout and a lot of the players on one of the best teams in the entire game effectively stripped down and nerfed in all likelihood, after months of screaming about this problem to no avail to the heads of this game who publicly just tossed aside all the hard work he was doing presenting evidence, people are STILL giving him shit? Really?

Unbelievable. I'm at a loss of words.
