Account Q's

How many accounts can I have?

You may have 1 legal account per person. There is a limit of 3 accounts per IP address though without special permission from Bort.

************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
Player Q's

What are Flex Points and how do I get them?

Flex points are the currency of GLB. They are used to boost players, buy special equipment, buy teams, and create more players.

You can get flex points through referrals, purchase, or giveaways. The exchange rate is $1=100 FP with discounts added at higher purchases. Referrals shown below. Flex points are given away on day 0 of each season and on some holidays. The amount is between 50-200.

How many Flex Points do I get for referrals?

50 FP for the first 10 referrals.
25 FP for the second 10 referrals
10 FP for the final 10 referrals.
There is a maxinum of 850 FP earned per season and the referrals do not carry over to the next season. (If you get 31 referrals, you will not get credit for the 31st)

How much do players cost to make or boost?

300- QB, RB, WR
200- ALL DEFENSE, TE, FB
100- Offensive Linemen, K, P

What are Skill Points?

Skill points are points awarded to your player in order to improve his skills. You gain stat points by rasing you EXP over 1000. Each stat or Special Ability costs 1 SP at first, but becomes more expensive the higher you go.

How do I gain EXP?

You gain EXP through training and playing time. Flex Point Boosting also gives you 1000 EXP. At first these bonuses will be large, but will decrease over time, making it harder to level up.

Do I need to be logged in at the time of the game?

No, the games will sim without any user interaction. Check back after the game to see how you did.

Is there a penalty for playing out of position?

Yes, there is. It is small for similar positions like OT-G or CB-WR. The penalty is larger for QB-DT or DE-WR.

How do I join a team?

Go to the Contracts tab on your player page. There are 3 offers from CPU teams to start out. If a human team offers you, it will erase the CPU offer.

I joined a CPU team. How do I get on a human team?

You must have a human team owner trade for you. (See CPU trades in team section)

How do I view my contract?

You click on your team's page. Then click roster and you can view your contract as well as the rest of your teammates contracts.

How does Equipment work?

At first, all equipment costs $500. You choose your color and then pick what skill(s) you want it to help you with. Every 8 levels, you have the option to update your equipment in order to get a bigger boost.

Flex Point Equipment allows to upload a picture and assign up to 6 skills and +1 to each skill of an entire tree of Special Abilities. It costs 100 FP per skill point and 300 FP for the SA tree available at level 8.

How do I 'boost'?

Boosts are a 1 level gain (at any time) for a cost the same as your player (see chart on 1st Q). You can boost up to 3 times each season. The first day to boost is day 0 of each season.

How do I get a picture for my player or my username in the forum?

Go to your player's page. At the top right-hand part of the page there is a spot for a picture. Under that is a link to upload. For the forum, you go to your home and then click on account settings. Pictures must be under 30 kb and will be resized to 75 X 75.

How long is a seson?

40 days of playing plus a day 0 at the beginning of the season for signings and such. Day 0 usually lasts 3 days.

Do contracts expire at the end of the season?

Not always. Each season is a full 40 day cycle. If you sign a 1 seson contact on season 1 day 23, your contract will expire on season 2, day 23.

************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
Training

The values are the same for each intensity, so why train intense?

They are not the same, once you press submit the new value will appear.

What do the color on the Matchup/Scouting/Energy bars mean?

These go related to the number they represent and they change at roughly every 20 points (give or take a couple). The order is as follows (gold is the highest)

Red--Yellow--Light Green--Dark Green--Gold

Energy
By Bort

Q: How does energy affect me?
A: Low energy will make your player play worse. He may also have to come out of the game if his energy is too low.

Q: How much energy will I use in a game?
A: It's entirely dependent on what your player is doing in the game, and his stamina skill. If your player is running around a lot, getting tackled, getting double team blocked, etc, he will use more energy. If he's mostly standing still or not having to do much, he will lose less. A higher stamina skill will make your player become tired slower.

Q: How is the my energy loss determined at the end of a game (energy bar)?
A: Your energy bar at the end of the game is NOT equal to the energy your player had at the end of the game. The reduction in your energy is based on how much energy your player used during the game in total. The more time he spent on the field, to more energy he will lose.

Q: How does IN-GAME energy (breath) work?
A: Energy during the course of a game goes up and down based on what your player is doing. While he's playing, it goes down. While he's sitting on the bench, it goes up. The speed at which it goes up and down is dependent on the player's stamina skill.

In-game energy is related to your energy bar, but it is not the same thing. If it helps to understand, you can call it "breath" instead of energy, to help differentiate it.

In a game, there are two variables used to keep track of your player's "breath." These are hidden, in-game variables:

- current breath
- maximum breath

Every time your player does something, his "current breath" is reduced. At the same time, his "maximum breath" is reduced by a small amount.

When your player is resting on the bench, his "current breath" is increased for every play he sits out. His "maximum breath" goes up by a small amount as well. A player's "current breath" can NEVER go higher than his "maximum breath."

An example, with basic math:

Player A starts with 100 "breath."
He plays one play, running around and making tackles.
- His "current breath" is reduced by 5, to 95.
- His "maximum breath" is reduced by .5, to 99.5.

Now Player A goes to the bench for one play.
- His "maximum breath" is increased by .05, to 99.55.
- His "current breath" is increased by 5, to 100. This is higher than the "maximum breath" of 99.55, though, so his "current breath" is reduced to 99.55.

Q: How does "breath" interact with my energy bar?
There are two ways they are related:

1. At the end of every game, the energy bar is reduced by an amount calculated by the player's "maximum breath" variable. The lower the energy bar goes, the lower the player's "maximum breath" was at the end of the game.

2. At the start of every game, the player's "maximum breath" variable is set to the player's energy bar level. If the player's energy starts at 85, his "maximum breath" starts at 85.

Q: How does "breath" relate to the manager's sub in/out levels?
A: The sub in/out values a manager sets are compared to the player's "current breath" stat, to determine if he should sub out or keep playing.

In the future, payment for it.

Maybe a section about tactics, but it seemed really intuitive when I was managing a team. A solid addition is a part about when ROLB or LOLB goes off the field.

When this game goes live, will we need to make sure that there are no real players names in the game? If so, I need to change two of my players' names.

Hi everybody, I'm new here and I have a little question about the trainings. What's the point to make an intensive training if the gain in values remain the same as if I did it relaxed ?

I added a note to the page that pops up after you create your player about how you have to get traded. Not sure if anyone will read it, but hey.
