I'm okay with the changes but I'm saddened that the emphasis is on the RPG 'one game boost' items and not the ability to play call. I think that people with football knowledge should be able to actually create plays (to an extent) so that a grown-man with play calling know-how can outplay a 14-year old kid that has players with tons of boosting items.

QFT

But you guys do understand that there are NOT enough FOOTBALL guys that PLAY ONLINE GAMES to keep the game afloat right ? I'm ALL for the football stuff and can do a little , not as intricate as some on here but you can bet that MOST people playing this game are just gamers that LIKE football.

That's very true. Plenty of Europeans on here didn't even know the rules of football before they started. So...that means it shouldn't be a fun game for them?

And this once cool game will become yet another boring RPG which is what most of us are NOT here for. If I wanted that I'd still be playing WoW.

On second thought... My HB could do some damage with a +5 Ring of invisibility.

There may not be 10 million football fans that like to play online games... but there is probably a smaller portion of online gamers that like football online. They may like football... but most online gamers will not be logging into GLB to get their RPG or MMORPG kicks... they'll go to WoW, EQ, DnD, LotrO, Even PotBS... before coming here.

EXACTLY and thats why you stay true to the real fans...from the beginning...and when you start going with the fad the cash its called SELLING OUT!!!!!!!!!!!! The whole reason i started playing was because this was an MMORPG for me...there are thousands upons thousands of RPGS out there with tons of magical items and hidden dragons and all that good crap...theirs only one RPG that i know of that deals with American Football...if it becomes like everything else it will lose its uniqueness and then will be lame and boring like all the others...why follow the pack...whats wrong with doing something new and keeping it that way???

Am I wrong in my assumption that this is still an American Football game? Bort has only changed the training system. The AI etc etc... is still the same?

Bort, I kind of understand his point about the stamina,

Maybe not an automatic refresh, but a percentage back based on Stamina rating?

If I read it right, energy loss and it's effects in games may be enhanced. I'm thinking those with high stamina builds may actually benefit since it will allow them to play longer and harder than many of us who've only taken stamina to the bare minimum.

I'm looking at some of my players' stamina and thinking "uh-oh".

Man when I came here season 1 Stamina was all the rage and I built accordingly. People started going speed/agilty maybe because of tweaks or whatever but REAL football people knew no matter what game or not , no wind no play

Yeah at the beginning of the season I pmed support about this and that was the solution they came up with that I use the season ticket sales to pay off a loan that was taken out before I had the team. In my finances I got the team on July 27th if that helps you any.

Bort We received a 1.4 million league adjustment but were unable to drop players we didn't sign or want w/o waiting until after the playoffs. We did start with 35k and a tiny bit of change. We did have a loan of over 1 million out when we got the league adjustment and had roughly 300k left to "spend" though most of it went to player salaries to said unwanted poorly built players (I love the previous owner.) Our Chemistry grace period ended before we could make even one transaction.

Which team is it?

k, I'll take a look

Hate to hop on this, but if you could examine the same thing with my team. When I got it it had a loan out and was about half a mill in debt, they took care of the debt but let me sit on the loan telling me to pay it off with season ticket sales.

I'd appreciate it greatly sir!

You don't have a loan...

it is.. well unless you roll 3 6s, in which case a dragon will come out and eat the football and half your offense.

I understand your point completely. But, let's face it, we've all watched the replays and thought to ourselves "Wow, that Ace Trips Pitch Weak sure rocks..." If you have a team that you can watch game film and identify that they just leave the standard Nickel Defense - Pass Focus in for every 3 WR set you'd be able to specifically run out of 3 WR sets. I know Bort is adding more plays but, really, even before adding a single new play (or even discussing any sort of trick plays) I just think it would be fantastic if we could pick the plays and not just the vague "WR MED PASS" options now.

I mean, try running FB MED passes. You line up in plays that don't even field a FB. We used our scrimmage games to run the various combos of passing plays to learn what formations are run from each setting and, aside from long=3-5 WRs, there was basically zero correlation. I would certainly love to be able to control my offense and not just say "Eh, pass it to whomever."

You do realize that the majority of players here don't control an offense or a defense. I'm not among that majority. I'm in the lucky minority like you that get to game plan.

What he added this year is for the majority, because they didn't have enough to do. Look beyond just what makes the game interesting for you and think about how you'd feel if you didn't have the opportunity to own or GM.

I don't own a team and I'm not a GM, but I would appreciate a FOOTBALL experience. I can play regular RPG's any time I want. I can play Madden any time I want. I hoped when I signed up that this game combined football and RPG realistically--I thought that was the idea...

But how has the modified training system changed that experience?

HA HA HA HA!!!

Slow building came out of the old system. That didn't change the basis of the game This won't either. People will work out new ways of player building. If you look at the numbers provided, it is actually a minimal difference but it means as a player you will have to think and plan little bit more.

Like real football..you build from the inside out...

Offensive plays like basic run/left should have been put in awhile ago. Im sorry..I agree fame is important...but more important than choosing where I want my HB to run to? I dont think so...

But, as I have tried to say, isn't giving the GMs the ability to run better offenses beneficial to the players who get to play more effectively? I have seen a lot of "these updates are all about the players, not the GM" talk like us GMs are being selfish. I think that my level 14 WR would be ecstatic if I was able to call up specific plays to help him beat the level 21 CB that is over the top of him. I'm not saying that we need a total overhaul of the offensive AI or even demanding a single formation/play is added like some of the others on here, just the ability to actually pick WHICH pass play we run. And, seriously, am I the only human being on the planet that thinks my players would appreciate me being able to use them on 3rd down and not just to cover special teams? I had to create BS players to fill my roster for depth because none of the player-only-agents want to join a team where they're a back-up and I don't have the option of using them in any way other then special teams and when my starters get tired.

Forget it. I run the defense on my team anyways. If people are THAT offended and that my requests are totally selfish and GM-based then I'll just leave well enough alone. Sorry for being elitist and selfish and GM-focused.

Tokens? Randomly generated items at the "advanced" store? How does that relate to actual football?

Not talking to the guy I responded to. I agree with him.

I thought that was the idea behind building your player from scratch and getting to choose SA's, buy epuipment and custom equipment etc.. That's pretty similar to alot of RPG's I've seen minus controling yoru character.

How much more do you need? Do you want to be able to control your players in game? You do that in alot of RPGS so why not here right, lol.

its not about the new training stuff (at least its not the only point) its about adding items/tasks an agent who wants to play a football-sim doesnt care....cause in that case he would play wow/war or whatever...and adding new "fancy" stuff before fixing REAL football issues like the offense ai, economy system of glb, 2pt conversions, time outs and such stuff...this is a football-sim about football tactics and such stuff not about grinding out on randomly dropped items...
