Indeed it is.

That doesn't mean people can't have the foresight to see the obvious.

For so many people that predicted it was unbalanced, how come so few voiced their concerns?

Euphoria at the time about being able to get magic gloves to pummel opponents? But I think many of us didn't actually know what abilities the pieces would have beyond +attributes and SAs. As such the thought never even crossed the minds of many. Many may have even initially assumed like equipment did not stack. I do remember there being questions asked to that effect.

That it first cost 10 tokens to upgrade these pieces was an indication of how strong these pieces were felt to be by the developer. In any case, it is up to those who are unleashing such feature to consider their implications and (I know this sounds crazy) test their effects, especially when their effects are maximized. Agents could only speculate as to how the issue would play out.

So thanks for admin/mods just coming out and saying why, that helps a lot - clear communication on this one was nice.

I have three questions...

#1) What are the SA's which will be available for swapping going to be in terms of value of the % vs. strength of the SA? I had two +5% break tackle, +3 strength pieces of gear. I believe the wording of the announcement indicates that a +5% piece is going to be able to swap out for a greater SA piece?
#2) Will the SA's we pick from be limited to the natural SA's for our build, or will it be wide open? I.e. DT's getting +first step choices, WR's getting +power through pieces?
#3) Is there any compensation to those of us who have structured our builds towards making our AEQ more effective? I mean, I understand why the change happened, but now it seems like my build will be punished (I have way too much carrying on one of my guys now) not for any fault of my own, but because the game designers didn't have the foresight to see this problem coming.

Thanks in advance.

Why didn't you bitch about it when you had two of the only backs in the game with 40%+each of break tackle or fake %???

I thought a testers job was to bring these issues to Bort before they become rampant around GLB, not 4 seasons after

because some people don't want an SA over 10

Every position has at least 3-4 SAs that are good. I doubt anybody has all of them to the point where AE would push too far, especially when many positions can use multiple %s (deflect and INT, make tackle/avoid fake/force fumble/break block, pass quality/pass distance, fake %/catch ball/break tackle).

As DB said, I'm also going to be working on SA balance testing and we're going to be adjusting SA's to be more effective/less effective depending on how they are working.

This is a huge issue. So changing equipment to avoid stacking. I understand it, even though I don't agree with it.

But then right after changing SA's as well? So we move the gear in a SA that will then get changed??

This is ridiculous.

If you are going to change SA's do t the fuck now, not after you force us into new gear, and then fuck us over again.

It hasn't been set up yet, it will be at the END of the current season.

Pretty sure the SA changes (which are all going to be buffs to "bad" SAs like The Glare, Trash Talk, Hands, and not nerfs to "good" ones) are going to happen at the same time as the EQ changes.

Also, some people put points into SAs that they might have put into attributes if they had expected to have their AEQ boost SAs as well. That said, it's a necessary change and we just have to suck it up.

#1) That's still being hammered out, at an extent at least
#2) see #1
#3) I personally can't say for sure, but I doubt it...The same goes for a player I have that I was building at a FFum machine.

As I've said several times, I know this sucks in some ways. It is screwing up some stuff for me too, but, even if a dot have 3 pieces of stacking AEQ, they can easily justify hanging on to 2 of them (that's what I'm planning on doing with mine). So, that leaves 1 piece left. It'd be hard not to be able to come up with an SA that wasn't already 10ed that wouldn't help.

It does hurt to an extent (far from a build ruiner, though), but it really needs to be done and we're trying to make it as fair as we reasonably can to those that have those 3 stacking AEQ pieces.
