Bort or daggers,
Is player size random? I was wondering because I made an OT that came out to be 5'10'' he is 300 plus but I wish he could have been a little taller. Of couse I don't know if height has any affect on anything in this game. Anyway I wouldn't want everyone randomizing to get the tallest biggest players. Maybe there should be a set range for some positions to fall in. For example: QB's are usually over 6' and linemen need to be BIG. RB might be short with a low center of gravity. WR's usually are slimmer and fast.

I guess I am just curious to how we get players the sizes they are and could this be improved or even made into something a player chooses when creating a new player. Obviously there would have to be some sort of limits with hight and weight so everyone lineman wouldn't be 6'8 and 400lbs etc. I dunno if this helps any but its my suggestion

Well thats it for now and thanks.

PS OVER ALL I love this game so far. Thanks for letting me be a tester. Hope this is of some use.

It's totally random at the moment, although it's within certain ranges depending on your position. Height and weight have some effect on things, but not major.

We've discussed it before, but we never really finalized a decision other than making the range a little narrower than it was before:

I'm still up for more suggestions if anyone else has any. The above thread has some good ideas.

I still don't believe it is totall random. I still see a ton of short people in the game. Then again I have no factual evidence to back that up.

5 out of 8 of my guys are 5'10".

Both my O-Lineman our 6'1". Somehow my FS got 6'1". But 6'1" is the tallest I have received though. You would think Offensive Tackles would be bigger then 6'1" though.

Lets see....

FB, FS: 5'10", LB, WR, QB: 6'1", TE: 6'5" (WOO!)

So it looks like I hit the height jackpot once

Bort,
Thanks for the response. I went and read the other forum you posted the lik for. Year there are some good ideas there but still. I think AT least narrowing the randomness for a position would be good or let the player decide. I just hate that I name a OT the "colossal crusher" and he turns out to be 5'10". He is kind of small for the line.

A suggestion just to throw it out similar to one in the other thread would be to give users the choices when they create their players:

Short, Average, Tall
And
Light, Average, Heavy

Of course you could set ranges for each of these so there would still be some randomness to it. (Use Pro athlete averages not regular)

Tall could be 6'3"-6'8"
Average 5'11"-6'2"

Heavy could range from 350-450 etc.

This way I could make a short stock guy, or a tall lanky guy or a big dude and there would still be some randomness to it because each chosen field would have a range.

What do ya think.

Older players don't really count, because they were created before I decreased the min/max range.

Perhaps I should just make the ranges really tiny for now (until we add a selection option)? Like all QB's are 6'3 - 6'5, 210-230lbs, and all G's are 6'4-6'8, 300-330lbs? Then nobody can complain, since everyone is about the same...

Just as long as we're all getting wiped after this season....I don't wanna be stuck with a bunch of shorties who are below the league minimum

take the shortest and tallest at each position in the NFL and use a formula to accurately distribute the heights/weights. then we'll have odgens who are almost 7 feet tall and some shorter guys like troy smith

wow I have a 6'4" 187lbs RB. I wish I could get that to 6'1", 215lbs. Is there any way I could do that? Does strength increase your weight? Since muscle weighs more than fat...
